Seeing as though the only clothes he had with him were the ones that were currently on him- new sets were needed direly. It wasnât that he minded it that much since he was used to such a thing from how he grew up in Russia, but he was almost certain that he might reek from the dried sweat that stained his attire. So he made himself go out to see if there were any shops that sold simple clothing, but in the panic of just being among a ton of people had him exit to the first clothing store he saw. And this was.. Something completely out of his league.Â
The decor was extremely modern and clean while he stood there in awe like a dirty spot on a white rug. He felt out of place, and began to feel even more nervous than before. That didnât last too long since he heard a scratching that made his toes curl slightly. His hearing wasnât as sharp as it usually was due to the amulet, but it wasnât any less annoying. It made him wince every time the culprit made that sound, but even then he didnât speak up about it.Â
He was fine with walking back outside, but just one look at the crowd beyond the mirrors gave him second thoughts. When he was spoken to he looked over for a second before he adverted his eyes to the floor. âJust needed any sort of clothing is all..â He nearly said in a mumble.
âOhâ was the only word her brain could throw at her as she glanced judgmentally upward and downward on this manâs attire. In this situation; it was like a homeless man entering a five star restaurant for something to eat. Not that she had anything against helping the poor, she wasnât a Samaritan either... but a Samaritan was what this one needed, and the only one in the building capable of saving the day was... well, her.Â
Underneath this tatty worn... costume, he wore, however, lay a handsome man. Handsome indeed, and oh would this man look good in silk. She very much doubted he could afford even a quarter of the sum required for a silk suit, however. There was surely something that could be done. Not all the clothing sold here was as luxurious as arachne silk, but still designer quality, at a slightly more affordable price. Phaedra made them herself.
âYou seem lost, my dear.â After a long pause she finally spoke with a wide grin. âLet me see what I can do for you,â she chimed. Already she had ideas in her mind, and with his appearance, she considered waistcoats to suit his complexion. That or a silk shirt and a woven cotton jacket over the top. A suit would look out of place with that beard of his. A silk waistcoat, with a cotton long sleeved shirt, however...Â
No - this man clearly could afford only cotton from the state of his current clothing; he seemed to lack money to buy himself something new until now, and by his hesitant approach, it was completely by accident to enter this clothing store of all places. There was Silkwares and there was regular department stores. An entire league apart both in quality and price. However, it was the best accident he will make.Â
Phaedra had just finished tailoring shirts that have not yet reached the shop floor, and she was willing to give discount. Disappearing into the back of the store, she picked up several different shirts ranging from the whitest cotton one could process, to the closest to black one would find.Â
âShall we start with the first layer? Let me see which shade suits you best.â Phaedra immediately started to hold up the shirts against his torso without even waiting for a response. âDo you know your measurements?â
