MK Čiurlionis: a Lithuanian artist that did nothing but paint and compose music for 6 years straight. Most paintings rarely leave Lithuania because they’re incredibly fragile (he couldn’t afford the durability of oil paints or large canvas) so I feel blessed to have seen his mythological cities, anthropomorphic mountains and clouds in a glorious array of colours in person.

Musically and lyrically, Red resembled a heartbroken person. It was all over the place, a fractured mosaic of feelings that somehow all fit together in the end. Happy, free, confused, lonely, devastated, euphoric, wild, and tortured by memories past. Like trying on pieces of a new life, I went into the studio and experimented with different sounds and collaborators. And I’m not sure if it was pouring my thoughts into this album, hearing thousands of your voices sing the lyrics back to me in passionate solidarity, or if it was simply time, but something was healed along the way.

day 10 of my autumn studying challenge!:

•what is your favorite thing about your major? why?

being able to shape young minds. being able to help people learn english so that they can use the language and benefit from it in their own lives. being always in touch with the languages. idk man i just love the idea of being a student’s favorite teacher, you know? two weeks ago after the class i was walking to the bus stop and four of my students came to me, all smiley and they were like good evening teacher! see you! and i almost shed actual tears. it’s such an amazing feeling.

-> oh boi. i’ll have my first mid-term this tuesday. it’s the museum education class, it’s not that hard even if there are many things to keep in mind. i spent my day in my dorm room, reading ppts and taking notes.
