“There were… many failures before you four came along, is all. We learned to manage expectations.
But the budding sense of community is something… admirable.”
❝Tell me, when did you exactly noticed we weren’t like the other people? Having a Siren in that team obviously made the chances better. I…guess you could say that.❞
“I noticed you were different when you survived.” Granted, she had been cheering for Lilith’s group. She was, after all, the first other siren that Angel had had the opportunity to actually work with. To learn from.
phasesh1ft:
“I had the same doubts about you when you first came planetside. Perhaps… they’ll grow into it?”
❝Did you? Not enough crimes in our wanted posters to prove we could take care of ourselves? Maybe, maybe they will. But they totally have it easier than us, the now have people who know what will happen and can lead them.❞

phasewalkin replied to your post Er. These new “vault hunters” are a strange batch.
❝If you can even call them that❞.

[ I’ve been away from this account for quite some time, but I would like to start it back up. Blog recs would be much appreciated! I don’t really know where to start. ]
→ Her father was back. That much was abundantly clear.
Angel could have sworn she had erased all existing records of him, but after she died, she couldn’t have possibly combed through the cybernetics of every Hyperion employee.
Her father was back. But this time, he was on her playing field.
The ECHOnet was her home. She could run, she could hide, she could chip away at his legacy one forum at a time. It would never be enough. A niggling little voice in the back of her head reminded her that now he must know how she felt all those years. Just an AI, and nothing more; A little secret stowed away, never to see the Pandoran sun again.
But, even after all of it, after all of her progress and all the joys of her new life, free from him...
She didn’t want to admit that, deep down, she had missed him.
So much has changed.
hello i am Here
nedsmeds replied to your post“[christ thank you for not being super fucking excited about the pre-sequel like literally everyone else I have seen]”
[my main issues with the game are the playable characters and the whole “here is some more Handsome Jack you didnt get enough in the second game right??” I wholeheartedly agree about Athena though. But hey - if you’re excited, go for it, m8]
I wouldn’t begrudge anyone their right to enjoy things.
I’m with you though. I’m not excited about the playable characters at all.
I just read this Kotaku article with a lot more plot details that sound sort of interesting. I finally found something to be excited about. Hoverbikes in space <3.
I wholly disagree with their claim that a game set post-BL2 wouldn’t feel like it had any stakes since Jack was dead. There would be the same power vacuum that existed after Dahl and Atlas left, waiting for someone else to grab up those bases, tech and valuable eridium deposits. Could be a really compelling story there about who the Vault Hunters decide to back in a bid for some stability on the planet, or if they take the dangerous road of trying to claim it themselves. All vague theoretical stuff, but I’d expect more from the creative leads of the franchise than to be like ‘we couldn’t imagine a interesting Borderlands experience without Jack in it’.
[ Eh. I mean, I see where they're coming from with the Handsome Jack thing, since he's, like, the /real/ main antag in both games (by extension from angel in the first), so. I think they're just trying to fill the time until they can find a new stable plot point from which to make a totally new game that still connects with the first two.
The problem with anything political is that it's (theoretically) probably pretty difficult to have a Borderlands experience that doesn't involve a rebellion or a military operation considering the game is, like, 80% "wow look at these Awesome Guns".
And the problem with doing another power struggle is that at this point it would be repetitive of them to keep playing up the "insane dictator" and I think the team probably does want something more original for the real Borderlands 3.
Anyway, I'm more than content with the prospect of this game because I personally find Handsome Jack to be one of the most interesting and complex antagonists, like, ever. To get more of his story is really exciting for me. Plus, I have faith that when Borderlands 3 does come out, it's going to be something fresh and interesting. ]
[ LOUDLY SCREAMS ABOUT HANDSOME JACK ORIGIN GAME ]
Have you done Handsome Jack?
Probably thinking ‘bout his handsomeness.
The Lair of The Firehawk || Lilith & Angel
Angel rubbed the dirt between her fingers, curled her toes into it when she stood. She felt it in her bed when she slept, and rubbing uncomfortably in her clothes when she dressed. The cave was a filthy little cranny carved into the ice, furnished with dirt and gravel and mud and two small, stained mattresses that had been pressed against the walls as if that allotted them some modicum of privacy. It didn't.
There was one computer shoved against another wall, with a chunk of spent eridium and a small vase of flowers on either side. The lair of the Firehawk; The workplace of two unsuspecting junkies.
She slept to the sound of streams of fire shooting through the shoddy pipes that made up their defenses. She had programmed an electrical grid to serve as their door and had thus insisted that the fire be turned off at night; Lilith would hear none of it. The bickering was nearly constant.
Angel fed a thin wire into the back of her wrist, grimacing at the tank of eridium that sustained her. She was down to three half-hour sessions with it per day. She sighed as she turned it on, feeling the element flow into her veins.
"We can't stay here forever, Lilith."
phasewalkin replied to your post:So, where's Angel live now? Sanctuary? Back in the control core after it was shut down? Lilith's lair?
[au where angel escapes the control core somehow and lilith shares the lair with her i want this now ace lets do it]
[hell yea hell yea hell yea lets fuckin do it]
So, where's Angel live now? Sanctuary? Back in the control core after it was shut down? Lilith's lair?
[ It really depends on who I'm RPing with. If it's anything post-game (which it usually is with the vault hunters, it seems) then she's usually in Sanctuary.
However, anything that takes place during the game or any threads with Jack will pretty much always be in the control core. ]
I do have this little headcanon though that had Angel lived, she would have probably remained in the control core, or in Hyperion at the very least, and would have managed Opportunity for the citizens of Pandora. ]
