How can I get involved this movement?
Come to meetings. Check the schedule here. http://phillyrealjustice.com/
Is there a website where organized rallies in our specific area can be found easily? I did check the BLM website, but all I saw was a calendar for forums and classes, not rallies/protests.

Inmates Are Planning The Largest Prison Strike in US History On September 9th. Prisoners across the country are standing up against forced labor and squalid living conditions. Read the whole comic by Sofie Louise Dam here.
Do ont forget that we never actually outlawed slavery, the amendment just says you have to be a PRISONER to be forced into slave labor, so now the government just finds excuses to throw black people in jail en masse to keep slavery alive

Philadelphia Police Officer Outed as White Supremacist with Ties to Blood and Honour
This information coming to light could lead to Lichterman’s removal, but one thing is certain: it will not change the fact that Police were developed specifically to protect White Supremacy and Patriarchy in this country. As long as Philly PD exist, their ranks will be full of the bigoted, power-hungry and corrupt, as well as a handful of fools and cowards who get the “good cop” label and serve to protect people like Lichterman.
Mike Brown was murdered 2 years ago today.
Darren Wilson still has not been arrested or charged.
Mike Brown’s parents have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city of Ferguson, former Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson and former Officer Darren Wilson.
Dorian Johnson has also filed a lawsuit against the city of Ferguson, Darren Wilson, and Tom Jackson.
The 2 lawsuits are headed to federal court as requested by Darren Wilson and Tom Jackson. The Brown family’s lawsuit will head to trial in October 2016.
"JUSTICE FOR KORRYN"
"RALLY & HONK"
DEMAND "JUSTICE FOR KORRYN GAINES"

Korryn Gaines, a 23 year old Black Woman was KILLED on Monday August 1, 2016 in Maryland (the same state of Freddie Grey's murder)
Our Questions And Demands Are:
Where is the police video to back up their account of what happened?
Why was a SWAT team sent to her house to issue arrest warrants ?
Why was some other method not used to apprehend her?
Why did the police shot he son?
(Korryn's son, 5 year old Kodi, who was also shot/wounded and has said that after the police entered into the home, HE STARTED RUNNING, A COP SAW HIM AND SHOT HIM...)

Wrongfully Convicted Prisoner Lorenzo Johnson's Statement for the Black DNC Resistance March
When we say Back Lives Matter, we in no way mean other cultures do not matter. We are speaking of the epidemic that has singled out our race. Mass Incarceration, the innocent shootings of unarmed blacks, the record number of exonerations, police and prosecution misconduct, medicare, welfare, the homeless, unemployment and much more have damaged the black community more than any other race. The U.S. Constitution have not been applied equally to blacks. Thanks to social media, what's been affecting blacks for the longest, is now being shown to society as a whole to witness. For two decades, I've been falsely convicted--By evidence the prosecution knew was false from day one. They NEVER corrected it. I am one of MANY AFRICAN AMERICANS who have been a victim of INJUSTICE. Black lives matter...
Lorenzo Johnson served 16.5 years of a life-without-parole sentence until 2012, when the Third Circuit Federal Court of Appeals ruled there was legally insufficient evidence for his conviction. He remained free for four months, after which the US Supreme Court unanimously reinstated the conviction and ordered him back to prison to resume the sentence. With the support of The Pennsylvania Innocence Project and the Jeffrey Deskovic Foundation for Justice, he is continuing to fight for his freedom. Though he does not have internet access himself, you can email his campaign, make a donation, or sign his petition and learn more at: http://www.freelorenzojohnson.org/sign-the-petition.html.
At 6:00 pm today, members of the Philadelphia community, @PhillyforREALJustice, and PhillySURJ began a 24-hr occupation of the 39th Police District in North Philly to condemn violence against Black people committed by police and sanctioned by the government. The action is taking place just before the @DemConvention in Philly, and many of the attending politicians claim to value Black lives, but still support the current system of police terrorism. Protesters demand and end to violence against Black people by the state and transforming policing so that it cannot be an agent of oppression, ending the legal and financial protection of corrupt police. Protesters also call for public officials to take clear, concrete steps, including ending stop-and-frisk policing and supporting Black community control of the police.
“The campaign, #SayHerName, was created to raise awareness about the number of women and girls that are killed by law enforcement officers. For Crenshaw – who coined the term ‘intersectionality’ in the 1980s to describe the way different forms of discrimination overlap and compound each other – it is a brutal illustration of how racism and sexism play out on black women’s bodies.”
Read this Guardian story about how Kimberlé Crenshaw is pushing back against the police violence that’s claiming the lives of black women.
A march through North Philadelphia on July 8 not only grew as it passed through many neighborhoods over 4 hours, short rallies were held wherever there were crowds and many who didn't join listened and raised their fists. Outrage against police brutality, mass incarceration and police killings - Alton Sterlings and Philando Castile are just the latest - is so common that most people of color can easily understand why someone would break and shoot at cops, as in Dallas the day before. Starting at 22 and Lehigh, the protest reached Broad and Huntingpark Ave, marched back via Germantown Ave and finally stopped at Allegheny and Broad. Surprising the cops, protesters then boarded the Broad Street subway to City Hall. When cops on foot and bicycles confronted demonstrators in the street outside of City Hall, protesters briefly surrounded the police. The worried cops quickly forced their way out of the encirclement. The protest was organized and led by the REAL Justice Coalition and Black and Brown Workers Collective.
Police Terrorism is a daily reality in our communities. In the last three days, two black men (Alton Sterling and Philando Castile) were murdered at the hand of the police. In Philadelphia, the police consistently terrorize the Black and Brown community through stop and frisk, beatings, threats, and state sponsored executions. The 24th and 25th police districts have a long history of brutality in Black and Brown communities. Last Thursday, the police arrested one of our comrades who filmed the arrest of another young man at the corner of Mascher and Cambria Streets. They threatened him and his partner with physical harm, broke his toe, and then gave him a $300 citation for several bogus charges, including "disorderly conduct." Clearly this is REVOLUTION time. We know this. We are gathering at the corner of Mascher and Cambria Streets at 6, where we will have a community speak out and political educational space. We will march to the 24 and 25th Police Districts located at 3901 Whitaker Avenue. For any questions, call 267-271-9154 or 215-253-0742
signs for actions this weekend
6 PM at 22nd and Lehigh TODAY Alton Sterling, 37, was shot multiple times in the chest and back in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Police were called to a shop at 12:35pm, July 6th, after a tip-off that a man selling CD's had threatened him with a gun. Two officers responded and there was an altercation in which Alton Sterling was shot dead. Both officers have been placed on administrative leave. Philando Castile was stopped by the police for a broken tail light while riding in the car with his girlfriend Lavish Reynolds, and their young daughter. Castile reached into his pocket to take out his license and registration. As he reached for his wallet, he informed the officers that he had a firearm, and a conceal-and-carry permit. The police shot Philando, and his girlfriend captured his murder on livestream, that was later uploaded on Facebook. Clearly this is REVOLUTION time. We know this. We are gathering at 22nd and Lehigh and will march to 33rd and Lehigh, where we will have a community speak out and political educational space. For any questions, call 267-271-9154 or 215-253-0742
Is there a protest planned for today, Friday, July 8? If so, when and where? I've never been to one, but after the latest atrocities in St Paul and Baton Rouge I got to do something. Thanks. --Mike
