It's that time again! A redraw of Kanako Eo's incredibly precious oh my god why did no one tell me this card existed sooner torchic from Legendary Treasures for @poketcg-art's Hoenn redraw event! It was nice to get something tiny and cute instead of a huge toothy murder mega for a change, and torchic's always been one of my favorite starters, too. I'm glad I was able to snag it!

This was an incredibly fun artstyle to try and recreate in 3D for the Pokédex collab by @poketcg-art, with some interesting rendering challenges and very educational processes :)

Why, whatever do you mean? There's definitely a birthday update for the Phoenixdex! And it's definitely been there since yesterday, for sure, yep, absolutely.
...yeah, no, you got me. Truth is, I was trying to have the (very small, lots of other things commanding my attention these days) update ready before midnight yesterday—and let's be honest with ourselves, most of my birthday updates are "before midnight" in a timezone several hours later than mine—but then just as I was finishing up the revamps I realized klaitning had played a very naughty April Fool's joke on me and did not actually look the way I wanted it to. I had to call it a night and try a different approach to the design at a more reasonable hour, just so I was sure I'd actually be satisfied with it. But it's there now, along with a new humbuzz as well! I can only hope that this humble offering, delayed though it may be, is just enough to appease the fates and keep the Phoenixdex limping along for another year. I'll even share the art here, too, as part of my desperate groveling for forgiveness from the timeline:
(Just want to add, by the way, that I do appreciate the silly little check-in! It warms my heart to know that there are actually folks out there looking forward to the site's anniversary, however small it may be.)

Mega Feraligatr redraw for @poketcg-art 's Johto Dex collab! Felt like trying something a little different, so I took inspiration from the color palette of feraligatr's Gold/Silver sprite (and the Whirl Islands tileset for the rocks and waterfall in the background, as a treat). It's not truly using actual GSC palette limitations for various reasons, but it was still pretty fun to mess around with!

MORMORMOR - ROCK/WATER
The three heads are constantly fighting over food. Trainers may have to disentangle them if they get too rowdy.
MORAYAROM - ROCK/WATER
The two exterior heads are the fighters, while the internal head is the strategist. There have been rare sightings of the heads swapping places when they learn who's better suited to each position.
MORAYAMOST - ROCK/DRAGON
The three heads have a beautiful friendship that gives them perfect syncronicity. Their ultimate technique involves tearing their opponents into three evenly sized chunks.
On a whim I decided to participate in @poketcg-art's Kanto TCG redraw event, and got mega gyarados! Mega gyarados is not currently blessed with a variety of fancy cards to choose from; possibly I could've picked a regular gyarados card and mega-ified it, but I figured I'd try extending one of the actual m-gyara cards instead (and taking liberties with the background since you can barely see it anyway lol).
This was fun! Looking forward to the rest of the regions as the redrawdex moves on!
