A day in Toronto, the first time I have made the take a photo of my crowd in a while.

In the winter of 2012, during a ceremony of intention at SPARK Circus I declared I didn't want to work in kitchens any longer, and I wanted to fulfil my goal as a full time performer. Honestly, at the time I wrote the whole ritualistic nature of the ceremony as nonsense. But I was wrong. Looking back I can say that declaration and ceremony changed my intention fundamentally for me. It brought clarity to my vision which allowed a sincere dedication to making it work however that was possible. It has been 4 years since that declaration, and there was certainly hard times financially, emotionally and artistically. However, this summer is shaping up to be the most contracts, and money I will ever make as an artist, with possibilities of paying down debt significantly. It is freaking possible!!! Yes!!! My experience at SPARK is part of what made me fully commit to being an artist and makes my work what it is today. If you've ever wanted to do 180 fire shows in 2 months in blazing heat through refugee camps and trying circustances for free, I highly recommend volunteering. Seriously, it is not for the faint of heart, but I have made some deeply close connections with that team, I grew as an artist in multiple ways, and of course - for the children!!!
