Hellooo baby and experienced witches ! Iâm going to guide you through collecting rain water, and the steps to get moon water ! Moon water has so many magical properties and is wonderful to use if youâre getting into witchcraft !
1. The first thing to do when wanting to collect moon water is to obviously gather together the bottle/s you will be wanting to use ! I often use a glass mason type jar/bottle. The amount of moon water you want to collect is up to you and endless !
2. After gathering your bottles, the next step is to collect the water ! Now, itâs totally up to you what type of water you use but since Iâm a green witch, I like to draw energy from the earth and nature so rainwater is the perfect fit. If you plan to collect rainwater, be warned that you mustnât drink this water as rainwater can be acidic ! If you plan to cleanse your insides with moon water, I would recommend collecting normal tap water.
3. If you donât mind waiting long or only want to collect a couple bottles worth, simply placing your bottles outside when itâs raining and letting the rainwater build up in the bottle would be fine ! The other option would be to set up a rain barrel somewhere in your garden and harvest the rainwater as it rains over time, but thatâs if you want to collect it fast !
4. After the rainwater builds up and your bottles are near-full, gather them inside somewhere and wait until the full moon to charge the water. Iâm not as experienced but Iâm not sure the new moon will charge the energy as well as the full, but itâs up to you ! Get a second opinion <3
5. When the full moon finally arrives, itâs time to charge your rainwater ! Wait until the full moon is in its most effective with magical energy; where my time zone is, this means after the moon has been visible for a couple of hours or so. When you believe the time is right, place all your bottles outside in the clear vision of the moon, so that they absorb the full moon magic. Feel free to meditate with the moon and truely believe in the power the moon is giving your water. Make sure to leave the lids of your bottles open !
6. Now here comes the anxious part. Before sun rises, or hits any surface, you must collect all the bottles and close the lids ! By doing this, it keeps the magic of the moon with the water and by touching sunlight, it might convert to sun water (donât be worried, this is just from my personal experiences and beliefs !) Place your new moon water somewhere covered and away from daylight. I personally keep mine in a little cabinet in my bedroom.
7. Use your new beautiful moon water as you wish ! Thank the universe and the moon for this water along with its energy. With my moon water, I often put it in a spray bottle and spray that around my house to rid of bad omens and such. I also use it to water my plants which gives them a little boost since itâs originally from the earth !
