【ᕙ ᕗ】A smile far from innocent tilted upon her lips. Though in deception it almost made her look human, Izanami could only laugh at the other’s responses. This was nothing more than amusement for the goddess, and as someone who had the potential to end everything in an instant, that was no fun. She must have fun while she reveled in the destruction of her former beloved’s creations.
❛ Oh dear, but won’t you believe that girl and I have far more similarities than you think? ❜ Though there was a little increased distance between the two, it only entertained the goddess more. ❛ You’re afraid of me but not her. She seems to emulate happiness while I emulate death. These are things that anyone could see. But if I were to tell you the story of a poor young girl, who had grown up loved by everyone… but then was shortly abandoned for man’s selfishness, then you would not know. ❜ Izanami reached out and caressed Byakugan’s face, chilling, and if the other did not stay in that touch for long she would not be surprised.
❛ His creations are all the same. Humans are self-interested. Taking advantage of our benevolence before dumping us in our own darkness once we are seen as useless. That girl made her choice on her own, but how many times has she been abandoned by the people whom she is supposed to trust? That Warrior of Light, her Lord, the woman of Ice… ❜ She gazed in Byakugan’s eyes. ❛ You were even part of the plot responsible for hurting her loved ones. All this facilitated by man’s selfishness. So you tell me now, my dear, between that girl and I… ❜
Izanami hummed. ❛ How different are we really? ❜
Byakugan was aware that as long as she kept the goddess amused she should at least be able to keep her life, but the question was . . . how long? How long before she tired of this? Truly this had been a great mistake on her part. Byakugan should have left well enough alone, but she couldn't, she cared for Isanami too much.
"Of course I'm not afraid of her." She wasn't really afraid of Izanami either, she was just aware of when she was outmatched. Still, Izanami did have a point there, both her and Isanami had been loved by everyone and then suddenly abandoned. They were similar even if Byakugan didn't much like it.
Byakugan stood there in the others hold a moment longer then she would have wanted to before stepping away. What was with this woman's need to touch her?
"I apologized for my part in that." Why must she focus on the one bad thing she did to Isanami? She had done wrong and was lucky she had been given a second chance. Lucky that she had become friends with Isanami, but now that this woman was here instead of Isanami it left a hole and one that ached.
"Not all humans are self-interested though. Some spend their whole lives helping others when they can. I can't say that for most of them." Even Byakugan was aware of how awful humans could be. She was one who had been quite awful and she still was when needed, but she didn't regret it. She was who she was.
"As similar as you might be you aren't the same person." Not by a long shot.
