Thinking about Lucy’s conversation with Kai and her saying it’s the fastest she’s won the cats are best convo, and knowing Kate was a lawyer, you just know she has a lot of really well thought out arguments, therefore I hypothesize that Lucy springs the argument at odd times (particularly when Kate is half asleep) trying to trip her up and get her to admit cats are better.
Lucy can make a convincing argument any time she needs to. Does she wait for moments when Kate's defenses are at their lowest??? Sometimes. The only down side to that is that Kate sometimes doesn't remember the discussion at all in the morning.
But yeah, Lucy can be pretty persuasive.

CBS’ NCIS is gearing up for its mega three-way crossover with its spinoffs NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: Hawai’i on January 9—and Deadline has your first look at the trailer above.
The NCIS crossover event will center around a very personal, high-stakes case to take down a mysterious hitman. Team members from the different NCIS divisions come together in Washington, D.C., to celebrate a beloved FLETC professor who taught multiple members of each of the squads.
On the eve of the celebration, the professor is found dead of an apparent suicide and his former students immediately suspect foul play. While investigating his past, they uncover a mysterious hitman, and the more they dig into it, the bigger the targets on their backs become. Members of the team are suddenly kidnapped and all the agents must come together to take down the assassin and save their own.
“For the first time in its 20-year history, the World’s most beloved CBS franchise will have a 3-way crossover event and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with the fans,” Christopher Silber, NCIS: Hawai’i co-Showrunner/EP, tells Deadline. “Our heroes will come together to say goodbye to a beloved mentor. But what starts simple, blossoms into a multilayered international conspiracy that spans 3 cities and requires every one of your favorite NCIS characters to solve.”
Cast members crossing over include Wilmer Valderrama, Gary Cole, Vanessa Lachey, Chris O’Donnell, LL Cool J, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Noah Mills, and Sean Murray.
The night kicks off with NCIS at 8 p.m. with the episode titled “Too Many Cooks,” followed by NCIS: Hawai’i with “Deep Fake” at 9 p.m., and NCIS: Long Angeles wraps up the night with “A Long Time Coming.” The special event will also be available to stream via Paramount+.
