tbh i think the fact hamilton got a penalty for the russell incident and not leclerc for the piastri incident is because the stewards seem to determine penalties on consequences as opposed to actions. not saying hamilton did or didnt deserve a penalty, moreso saying leclerc REALLY deserved a fairly harsh penalty, the only reason there wasnt a massive and dangerous collision is because oscar backed out of it after being hit by leclerc, and it completely compromised oscars race, costing him a possible p3/p4 as well but nope no further investigation

#genuinely what was oscar to do in that scenario there leclerc drove like oscar didnt exsist #its beyond baffling to me why he didnt get penalised #yk its bad when even sky sports say something in oscars favour #and tbf i am conflicted on hamiltons penalty bc even russell was saying it was an issue with the merc power unit on the straights #but it feels pretty clear to me they looked at the fact hamilton stayed in and russell dnfed to give a penalty #and the fact oscar and leclerc both stayed in to not give a penalty #which just feels so stupid and counterintuitive like WHAT #genuinely in that scenario is oscar supposed to let himself have a huge crash in order for leclerc to get rightfully penalised????#what sort of precident are u setting there like if u want to do a penalty worthy move do it to a drive who doesnt want to crash??#like ur actively encouraging more crashes with this #its just so...#tbf not even leclerc hate i generally like the guy but that move was badddddd and he deserved a penalty #oscar piastri #f1

you what's so painful is oscar drove such a good race, was on course to get a p3/p4 and through no fault of his own his race was ruined. but yet again, they'll be no praise for him for making the best out of it or consequence for others who crashed into him or any slack given to him for dealing with the cards he was dealt. i truly hate this sport.
