Life is not easy.

So this is love.

There was a time not too long ago when I focused on myself. I made an effort to be selfish because I grew up looking out for others & everyone says your twenties are about “you”. I didn’t want to compromise myself, I didn’t want to slow down or change direction.

I can’t say the exact moment or a specific event that changed that. It was a gradual thing that started with one person that made me want to take my time. I wasn’t expecting it & I didn’t know it was coming, it just happened.

It doesn’t feel like I’m giving things up. It doesn’t feel like I’m settling. I suddenly have someone to hold my hand through the good & the bad. Instead of slowing me down, he pushes me forward. I don’t compromise any part of me because that’s who I am. I won’t change direction because we’re going the same way. I feel lucky to know him, let alone love him.

For the first time in my whole life I feel like I’m at peace.

ekkkkkK!!! FRANK TUNER LOVE <3 I heard him perform this live the last time I saw him and it was amazing as usual.

This is a bit out of order people and I'll admit I've lagged. Don't judge me.

First movie was a mini-documentary. Finding a story worth telling is sometimes difficult but lucky for me I have a crazy awesome backpacker for a boyfriend and I knew what story I wanted to tell. Jesse hiked the John Muir trail for over twenty days straight and I knew his experiences, along with a few of his friends, would make for great footage. These guys were awesome on camera and the stories they told were golden. Worth a watch if I do say so myself. (Also, the music is rad.)

It' been a while since I actually used my blog to write. Here's why: school has started and I'm busy making movies!

Second official assignment was to make a music video. I chose "5 years time" by Noah and the Whale because I've never listened to that song and not imagined happy times. Finding the moment to film was maybe the easiest and hardest part with an imagination/schedule like mine. After maybe the 10th listen to the song I decided to keep it simple. I wanted a real video, nothing staged.

Now for those who are not familiar with Steven Henao, he's a friend of mine that sports a mustache that is quite eye catching. In honor of his 29th year on earth I decided to make music video dedicated to his birthday trip. Having a good time has never been a problem when I'm with this bunch and looking at the finished product I know why. Great company means great times.
