About me - How I began to cook
I am just a simple girl with simple interests!
My mumy never made the same dish twice in a week. And as good as that sounds, let me tell you - it does spoil you! I started living on my own when I turned 22. IF I wanted to keep that high maintenance tongue of mine satiated, I had to cook for myself. Only problem? I couldn’t follow a recipe if my life depended on it! It somehow made the process of cooking so robotic and strangely unexciting for me. I would use them for inspiration instead.
Watching my mom cook, while I sat on the kitchen counter - trying to help when I was 4 & not allowed to help and only gossip when older & allowed to help - definitely came in handy. Aaaanyway, I just sucked it up and started cooking. Fortunately, it wasn’t a disaster. Although I am not the best cook out there, I am for my husband! Coz thats what matters right!?.....riiiiiiiiiight???Â
Well! Because I believe cooking is a life skill, not knowing is not an option, I’ve been able to get my Blanket Hogger to start cooking. Says he even enjoys it now! And it was him who encouraged me to share my experiences with you lot. I am not an extrovert and its a big deal for me to put myself out here. But if I can add value and make cooking slightly easier for even one person, I’d be super happy :)
