TOP 5: Books
There is nothing that saves me more than a book. It is been a while since the last time I read for pleasure (because I have to read stuff for class) but I still love it.
Here a list of my favorite books ever:
1.- Les Misérables. (Los Miserables in Spanish)
Author: Victor Hugo
But I am talking about the good edition, the huge one. Yes, it took me years to finish it BUT it was completely worth it. I am a huge fan of Javert. However, if 1332 pages (depends on the edition) is too much for you...you can watch the movie or book a ticket for the musical.
2.- The Good Earth (La buena tierra in Spanish)
Author: Pearl S. Buck
I am a geek of novels based on China. This novel is touching. It teaches you to appreciate what you have, who you are and the way you are. It is not a self-help book but you will learn that you’re ephemeral. You can also watch the movie BUT IT IS NOT THE SAME THING.
3.- The name of the wind (El nombre del viento in Spanish)
Author: Patrick Rothfuss A.K.A. THE BOSSSSSSS
I CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS BOOK. Patrick Rothfuss is a genius. I have a crush on everything in this book/world. What a story. What a main character. A part of me is founding a club the fans (actually I am subscribed to a newsletter because I don’t want to miss anything). A series, a video-game and a lot of things more are coming.
4.- Game of Thrones (Juego de tronos in Spanish)
Author: George R.R. Martin
I mean, if I have to explain how awesome it is...JUST READ IT IF YOU HAVEN’T. IT IS BETTER THAT THE SERIES...SO, IMA-GI-NE. #TeamTargaryen
5.- Love in the time of cholera (El amor en los tiempos del cólera in Spanish)
Author: Gabriel García Márquez (Gabo/Gabito for native Spanish speakers who love him)
It is a heavy reading, I admit it but OMG. I love it soooo much. You can feel the magical realism. I love Macondo. I love every character (but Lorenzo Daza). I love how everything is connected and I love how Gabo describes everything and how he shows you that there are 5 kinds of love. He transfers you to the scene with beautiful words. Gabito we miss you. And yes, there is a movie as well.
