Paradox Much? || the-doctor-and-the-bad-wolf
Rose lowered her arm slowly, biting her lip. She sighed and shook her head, realizing that the Ninth Doctor wouldn’t know why she was so proud to have a bay named after her. She flinched just a bit when the Doctor started to get angry. The Doctor was still confused, or at least she assumed, so she wasn’t upset that he said that she wasn’t his Rose. He just didn’t understand yet.
The blonde began to walk towards herself, then stopped, seeing as the Meta-Crisis Doctor had already been taking care of it. “I know right where it is,” he said. Past Rose was in his arms and he was making his way down the passage as Rose stepped closer to the Doctor. She then felt incredibly stupid for thinking at the past Rose might be dead. The Doctor was right, if she was still standing, obviously she had survived.
She bit the inside of her bottom lip and tapped the Doctor’s shoulder. “See, everything’s alright now… Do you think you could try to let me explain? I’ll try not to tell you too much,” she asked. She hoped he would at least let her attempt. It would be kind of hard to explain without telling him a lot about the future, but she could try. “Well, let me ask this first… Do you have any questions?” She felt kind of like a school teacher.
The Doctor stared down the passageway after the man. I know right where it is, he’d said like he’d navigated the TARDIS before with his ridiculous hair and that cheesy grin. Future Rose’s voice penetrated his reverie and he looked away from the corridor. His eyes came to rest on Rose’s face. Hesitantly, jaw clenched, he lifted a hand and ran his fingers over her cheek. Same soft skin. Same compassionate brown eyes. Same Rose.
The tension seeped out of his body. He sighed, closed his eyes, and laid back against the TARDIS grates. “I do have questions, Rose Tyler.” He tucked his hands behind his head in a makeshift pillow. “First, where are we? Really, tell me. I can take it. ‘Bad Wolf Bay’ might be good enough for you but it means next to nothing to me and I’d like to know where I am.” He paused. “It’s not Earth, not the Earth I’m used to, anyway. Something feels wrong.” Another pause. “Which reminds me, who’s the skinny bloke? You and your men, Rose.” His voice dropped to a mumble and he added, “Thought maybe I’d be the one that stuck.”
Tears suddenly filled Rose's eyes as the Doctor reached up to touch her. She smiled sadly at him, then looked away to wipe her eyes quickly. Once she faced him again, she smirked a little bit and leaned back on her elbows. Until she heard his questions, of course. "Well, uh... I don't know if I can answer either of those... I still don't know what I should tell someone from the past... Then again, I did bring my cell phone to nineteen eighty seven," she chuckled. But that trip only brought back sad memories.
"Well..." she thought about it for a moment. "He's uh... he's John Smith," she decided to tell him. She laughed a little. "He's definitely thin..." she nodded slowly, just staring off into the distance. She kind spaced out for a second. "Sorry," she said once she came back to reality. She really just wanted to vent to the Doctor about everything and just tell him whatever she wanted to, but she knew she couldn't. She couldn't reveal too much about the future.
