I am a librarian loose in the interwebs, currently writing Forever fanfic and other wild shenanigans. Other fandoms include Doctor Who, Sherlock, Castle, The Flash, Welcome to Night Vale, and teen books in general.

Listen up Foreverists!

If you’re reading this post, chances are you’ve been looking through the Tumblr tag for Matt Miller’s Forever, the ABC show that was sadly cancelled last year. The Forever fandom is a small one, but nonetheless one that is massively talented, with fics, art and videos being produced left, right, and centre. We have Ficathons, gift exchanges, ask blogs, roleplays, and many, many more ways of showing our admiration for the show, on a wide variety of platforms. We have quite the little community.

Apart from our love of the show, there is one thing that unites most of us: our despair at the lack of a second season. For months, we have hoped and prayed for ABC or Netflix to pick up the show where it left off and produce a second season, or even a few episodes or a film; but sadly, this was to no avail. People have even toyed with the idea of creating a second season through fanfiction, but due to the sheer amount of co-ordination this would require, it has not come to past despite people’s best efforts.

That’s where this delightful new blog comes in. We at @forever-season2 propose to you - wait for it - that we, the Forever fandom, use our considerable skills in creating fanworks to create a fan-made second season!

Now, we know what you’re going to say. This isn’t exactly an original idea, but it is one that would require an immense amount of organisation and collaboration between Foreverists. That’s why we’ve created this blog, as a way to organise creators and collate ideas to create our second season.

So, if you are reading this, and would be interested in being involved as a writer or artist, please like or reblog this post to show your interest and spread awareness of this scheme. Heck, even if you’re not interested in creating, give this post a few notes anyway, to show your support. This is just to see what level of interest your the fans have in this idea, and how many people would be willing and able to contribute, even in a small way.

It’s a long story - let’s keep it that way.

Title: Honesty Is Key

Trope: Locked Room/Trapped

“Let’s see if there’s anything I found that may help me, ah, send up a flare. Or pick the lock.” He spread his gathered items on the floor before him like a child returning home from trick-or-treating. He quickly assessed them further in the light from her phone.

“Henry, I’ve come to appreciate the surprising range of your skills, but you can’t honestly think you’re going to pick an industrial-grade Medeco lock with…is that a mechanical pencil?” She squinted at the small object on the floor in front of him.

“I’m willing to try anything at this point.”

In fact, the pencil was intended to stab himself in the jugular, but only as a last resort. That was a quick but very unpleasant death, and he didn’t think he could stay quiet enough to keep her from noticing.

Reece looked like she was about to say something else, but her head rolled loosely to one side instead, and she would have slumped sideways onto the floor if Henry hadn’t caught her.

“Lieutenant! Joanna!” He squeezed her shoulder as he righted her and practically yelled her name. “Joanna, you must stay awake.”

“You know, you never did tell me about SAFE TOPIC NOT PERTAINING TO PERSONAL FEELINGS AT ALL.”

Henry’s eyes lit up.

“Ah, yes.  That had quite a fascinating answer, too…”

what was that about a first draft being a success merely by existing?

Oh, let me show you the paragraph of doom I’m about to flesh out:

“Kens, please,” he begged. “Just let me get through this.”

TRANSITION INTO AFGHANISTAN SCENE. MAKE IT ALL TIE BACK TO BRANDEL AND TIFFANY. BLAH BLAH MARTY STOPS LYING AND TELLS THE GODDAMN TRUTH FOR ONCE.

He’d wanted to kill a man, but had failed. He hadn’t wanted to kill another, but could have done it so easily. And in between? In between he had. He’d fired one shot, and in doing so had saved one life, possibly his own as well, but taken another. And if he knew Kensi at all, he knew she would have all the pieces put together before morning. By dawn she would know it all. But he still wouldn’t be able to confirm it. He couldn’t. Because in doing so he would drag her deeper into his own darkness. And suffocate her as well.

And right now I hate everything.
