//OOC; what’s happenin’ everybody!! If you’re one of the couple people who’s doin a story with me right now you might’ve noticed a big dip in activity over here. A little while ago, I decided to take a bit of a break from my main Tumblr accounts, and I expected it to be over by now but I’m still gonna need some time to work a bunch of personal things out and mentally recharge. Whenever I feel like coming back from hiatus is a good idea, I’ll respond to stuff, but for now I hope everyone is staying safe and doing well!!//

Charmy sat with his legs out, his hands on the ground so he can lean forward with eagerness. His antenna perked up at Sonic’s idea,

“Okay!! Give it here, Sonic!!” He reached out and swiped it, biting his lip in anticipation. He lifted himself off the ground again, looking the rock over.

“I could try throwing it! Heeey- “ An expression came over him, a mix between excitement and alarm.

“D’ya think it could explode!?!?”

“ Explode?! Pffsh- don’t you worry about a thing, kiddo! Your buddy Sonic has totally got this one hundred percent under control ! “

He glanced at the rock and back at Charmy.

“ ... “

“ That being said, you should totally try throwing it. “

A determined smirk spread across his face- clearly, he was loving this whole thing. Maybe a little too much.

“ I wanna see what happens. “

“Wo-kay!” Charmy expressed whimsically, swinging back and forth as he clutched the rock tightly, hovering higher and higher, until he was above Sonic’s height.

He put the ruby in one hand and stretched it back, then aimed with his other arm, sticking it out straight and squinting into the distance. There was a clearing up ahead where the trees split, he grinned.

Then, with his tongue sticking out slightly, his arm whooshed forward.

The rock soared towards the clearing; for a little bee he had a fairly good arm.

Sonic watched it hit the ground. 

“ Huh! I guess nothing h-- “

The hedgehog spoke too soon. The rock started glowing slightly- it was barely visible, easy to mistake as a glint of the sun. Within seconds, it was radiating light and making a soft buzzing sound.

“ ...Woah. “

“ Should I try to touch it? “

“Woahh,” Charmy grabbed his cheeks with interest, a look of excitement coming over him.

The rock’s light danced almost temptingly around it, with it’s buzzing increasing steadily.

“YES.” Charmy put his arms out and landed beside Sonic, before nudging him.

“I dare you, touch it! touch it!” He said, curling one fist beneath his chin with anticipation.

“ What’s the worst that could happen? “

Yeah. Alright, fair enough. Without hesitation, he zoomed right up to the rock and stood in front of it.  “ Here goes nothin’, buddy! “ Sonic cracked his knuckles, took a DEEP breath, and snagged the thing off the ground. It wasn’t clear exactly what, but as soon as he touched the rock it was clear something was off about the air around them. The gentle green hill breeze was completely gone, a staticy feeling and slight stiffness in its place.

He put a finger to his chin after being asked the question, accompanied by a concerntrated frown.

“Hmmm, well I had honey on toast for breakfast! And then I got yelled at for leaving legos in Vectors room....and then I had to do something but I forgot, so I went to ask Espio and there was a big weird machine in the evidence room!!” He grinned, “I thought it looked like a time machine from a movie so I played on it - and then I was here.”

He cupped his hands together after explaining, as if it answered all oddities about the situation.

“Oh yeah, also this was in it and it came with me!” He tucked a hand into his helmet and pulled out some kind of ruby, that looked slighty- but not quite- familiar.

Sonic smiled at the mention of his speed. He loved when people pointed that out! The hedgehog listened intently to the description of Charmy’s day, nodding with each event he mentioned. 

“ Sounds like a pretty typical day! With the exception of the whole ‘time-machine thingy’ and fancy rock, of course. “

He tilted his head at the sight of the thing- had he seen that somewhere before? Magical stones weren’t out of the ordinary to him, but one that resulted in the user hopping dimensions? 

“ D’you know what on Mobius this thing is, kiddo? It might be a clue! “

“Hm?” He looked at it.

“I don’t know, it’s kinda pretty huh?” He held it up, watching it glint in the sun. He then rubbed his head, his expression looking a mix of cheeky and guilty.

“I’m not reeeeally allowed in the evidence room, it’s supposed to be full of-“ He put on a deep, mocking voice, waving the ruby around as he spoke,”- ImporTAnt STuff, I don’t know what kinda stuff ‘doe.”

He hovered closer to Sonic and held it out,

“You wanna see? It’s real smooth and shiny!”

Sonic gently took the stone in his hands and examined it carefully, not wanting to slip up and mess anything up. He didn’t think either of them wanted another Phantom Ruby situation. The hedgehog held it up to the sun, peering through it to make sure there was nothing inside, and let out a soft “ hm. “

“ I haven’t seen anything like this before, and I’ve done my fair share of dimension hopping! “

He continued messing with the thing, bouncing it back and forth in his hands and letting the sunlight reflect off of it. Suddenly, he looked up and flashed Charmy his signature ‘bad idea’ grin.

“ Hey! I’ve got it! A foolproof master plan that’s just bound to work! “

Charmy’s watched as he examined it, bobbing up and down in the air. He was amused when the hedgehog bounced it from hand to hand and he gave a titter. He put a finger to his mouth when Sonic shot a grin, immidiently interested and curious.

Then came Sonic’s ‘foolproof master plan’ suggestion, causing the bee to take immense interest.

“Yeah!?? What is it? What is it???” He questioned, flying closer to Sonic and getting in his space. Before he could even recieve an answer he exclaimed,

“-Tell me!!!” With his face encompassing a huge smile simular to Sonic’s own.

“ Alrighty, Charmes! Hear me out! This plan is gonna be great! “

He sat criss-crossed in the grass, still holding the mysterious stone gently in his hands. 

“ So... “

“ We take the cool rock... “

“ And we try t’ activate it! Like a chaos emerald! There’s gotta be somethin’ around here that’ll set this thing off if it’s got freaky chaos energy. It’s worth a shot! “

He looked at Charmy like this was the most genius thing he had ever come up with. His phantom ruby was activated when it was dug out of the ground, the chaos emeralds were activated by certain actions and bringing them all together, maybe this new thing could get the bee home in a similar way?

“Badnicks!” Charmy said in alarm and excitement, his antenna pricking up. He hovered a little higher in the air, grinning, then aimed himself. Smash! One by one he’d slammed his stinger into them and cracked them open, leaving robot parts spread across the grass. He cackled, landing with his arms out for balance.

“Hey, these look a little different to eggmans usual robot guys?” He suddenly noticed, tilting his head. They were out-dated. He was fairly observant, which was a good quality for a tracker. He shrugged off the random deduction, before realising there was something he was meant to be doing- but he got distracted again!

Sonic watched from just behind the bee. This was great! He wasn’t used to seeing fresh faces around here! He hadn’t in a few years, at least. Whoever this kid was seemed ‘friendly’ enough- any enemy of Robotnik was a friend of his! He raced a few feet closer, not caring to mask the sound of his footsteps in the grass.

Hey...wait a minute... It couldn’t be! Was that-

“ Hey! Charmy! Is that you, buddy? “

He looked cheerful enough, but there was a hint of confusion in his voice. Maybe this wasn’t his dimension’s Charmy like he’d originally thought.

Charmy turned and looked around as he heard his name, then grinned.

“Hey Sonic!!” He called back, buzzing over enthusiastically and waving his arms. “Yeah- it’s me! Charmy bee!” He did a little flip in the air, grinning, “That rhymes!” He looked Sonic head-to-toe, before tilting his head with confusion.

“Hey... did you get a new haircut or something?” He questioned, tapping his chin.

“ Ehh, not quite, kiddo. “

Sonic rubbed the bottom of his nose, leaning against a nearby tree. He gazed at the scenery around them for a second, trying to to articulate his thoughts on all of this.

“ I'm not exactly your Sonic; in fact, this place isn’t exactly your dimension. I hung out with you n’ your gang during that whole Phantom Ruby Infinite mess,” He twirled his finger as he spoke, oversimplifying things as usual. The details didn’t seem very important to him at the moment. “ D’you remember me? “

Charmy was still for a moment, staring blankly as his mind sorted through his scatterbrain for the memory.

“Heyy yeah! Your that other Sonic,” He pointed at him, then tipped himself backwards playfully before landing. He placed his hands on his hips, smiling confidently.

“So I crossed dimen-shons? That’s so cool! Wait ‘till I tell Vector!” He leaned forward enthusiastically before hopping a little and looking around. He had an over excessive amount of energy, though it was common for the young bee. He didn’t seem fussed about how the situation came to be, or how he might get back. Or maybe it hadn’t occured to him yet.

“This place is pretty! Look at all the flowers and big whoopty-loopty things!!”

“ Woah there, kiddo! Glad you’re excited t’ see me, but we gotta figure out how the heck you got here! “

Taking charge of the situation, he was off in a flash. The hedgehog zoomed around and inspected nearby wildlife at rapid speeds. He ran out of sight for a moment and was back in his original position within seconds. 

Sonic tapped his foot as he thought. 

“ Alright. That’s a little weird. I don’t see any suspicious-looking warp rings or time-eaters or sparkly reddish portal thingies. D’you remember what you were doing before you got here, little buddy? “

“ ...Hm. Well yeesh, pal! If I didn’t know already I sure do now! Aren’t you guys supposed to be more subtle about these things? Isn’t there some unspoken rule that you guys follow to avoid paradoxes or whatever? “

“ If you really wanna know, I can confirm that your boy Sonic is one hundred percent real! No identity crisis for this hog! I just kinda exist in another dimension or however that works. You remember Sonic Generations, right? “

“ Man, what a day! I’m beat! Managed to snatch Knux’s hat a grand total of ten times this year. “

“ Poor buddy doesn’t seem to appreciate our little April Fools tradition as much as I do. Too bad I can’t hear him over my new record! “

[Starter for @shadowed-ruby​ !]

It was a quiet evening. Silent and rather boring, really. It would’ve been a great time to relax, unwind, get lost in one’s thoughts…if it weren’t for the very apparent noise of distant, rapidly approaching footsteps. A small figure halted, making a cartoonish skidding sound effect.

Sonic jumped up into the light! He had noticed a familiar face and wanted to say hello! Nevermind that he shouldn’t have even been in this dimension. It’s fine.

One of Infinite’s eyes very slowly open up under the mask, a puff of breath leaving his concealed lips in a deep, irritable sigh as he lazily floated above the chair near the gentle lapping waves of the lake. His still crossed foot harshly tapped the leg of the black hedgehog next to him, startling him out of his slumber and knocking the book off his face. As he rubbed the sleep from his eyes, the blue and silver glistening metal body of Metal Sonic signed a few disbelieving words “You’re here?”

“I was hoping there would only be one rat on this trip, but now there’s two. Lovely.” Infinite closed his eyes once more, deciding to rest his eyes rather than look at the small blue hedgehog before him. Shadow, upon realizing who it is, gives a very soft smile, laying back down and rolling to where he can see you.

“Fucks sakes Infinite I thought we were under attack. Hi Sonic.” His voice was still harsh from the recent sleep, but clearer by the second.

Okay. Rude. Sonic didn’t say anything, but it was clear the jackal had offended him. He’s a hedgehog! Hedgehogs aren’t even rodents!  Rats aren’t even spiky! Can you believe the disrespect? He shook his head at Infinite, waved at metal and turned to the black hedgehog who had greeted him, tilting his head. He just zoomed above Shadow and landed gently in his lap, deciding this was a good place to sit. He patted Shadow before beginning to motion wildly and excitedly, indicating that he had something to show the others!!

“Oomph!” Shadow sits up and picks you up for a moment, crossing his legs and then setting you back down “What’s up?” He inquires as you wave, infinites eyes opening back up to watch more closely having still been paying close attention to what was going on around him.

Metal makes a soft beep, quietly twining his fingers and waiting patiently for you to show them.

Sonic reached behind his back and pulled a Chaos Emerald out of seemingly nowhere. 

He had been keeping it in his hammerspace for a couple days now. The hedgehog motioned to the area around them all, indicating that it was an emerald of this dimension. He had been looking for the other ones and tilted his head at the others. They seemed like the kind of crowd who would know things about the Chaos Emeralds.

Shadows eyes glowed with intense… Something mixed with intrest “where did you…..”

“Get that?” Infinite finished as Metal made sure no one was around “Do you know how dangerous flashing those has become?” He sighs and sits up, facing you in the air.

“Please put that away and tell me why you need them.” Shadow shakes out of it and looks at you with a more rested face

He just sorta shrugged and wiped his nose. He didn’t see what the big deal was, really. People were after these things all the time in his dimension and he always managed to save the day just fine. Sonic had a habit of taking most things lightly, but that didn’t include the safety of others. He complied and put the emerald back in his hammerspace. 

Articulating exactly where he had found the thing would’ve been difficult, even if he was comfortable speaking around these guys he wasn’t entirely sure. He just pointed to the woods behind them, the ones that he had emerged from. It was pretty vague, but it was an answer!

One of Infinite’s eyes very slowly open up under the mask, a puff of breath leaving his concealed lips in a deep, irritable sigh as he lazily floated above the chair near the gentle lapping waves of the lake. His still crossed foot harshly tapped the leg of the black hedgehog next to him, startling him out of his slumber and knocking the book off his face. As he rubbed the sleep from his eyes, the blue and silver glistening metal body of Metal Sonic signed a few disbelieving words “You’re here?”

“I was hoping there would only be one rat on this trip, but now there’s two. Lovely.” Infinite closed his eyes once more, deciding to rest his eyes rather than look at the small blue hedgehog before him. Shadow, upon realizing who it is, gives a very soft smile, laying back down and rolling to where he can see you.

“Fucks sakes Infinite I thought we were under attack. Hi Sonic.” His voice was still harsh from the recent sleep, but clearer by the second.

Okay. Rude. Sonic didn’t say anything, but it was clear the jackal had offended him. He’s a hedgehog! Hedgehogs aren’t even rodents!  Rats aren’t even spiky! Can you believe the disrespect? He shook his head at Infinite, waved at metal and turned to the black hedgehog who had greeted him, tilting his head. He just zoomed above Shadow and landed gently in his lap, deciding this was a good place to sit. He patted Shadow before beginning to motion wildly and excitedly, indicating that he had something to show the others!!

“Oomph!” Shadow sits up and picks you up for a moment, crossing his legs and then setting you back down “What’s up?” He inquires as you wave, infinites eyes opening back up to watch more closely having still been paying close attention to what was going on around him.

Metal makes a soft beep, quietly twining his fingers and waiting patiently for you to show them.

Sonic reached behind his back and pulled a Chaos Emerald out of seemingly nowhere. 

He had been keeping it in his hammerspace for a couple days now. The hedgehog motioned to the area around them all, indicating that it was an emerald of this dimension. He had been looking for the other ones and tilted his head at the others. They seemed like the kind of crowd who would know things about the Chaos Emeralds.
