Every year I share an image on this day as a small reminder of how much you mean to me. A small glimpse at the impact you've made on me. Twenty-four years have passed since the world has seen your beautiful smile. Twenty-four years have passed since the world has heard the music that was your laughter. Twenty-four years have passed since you were here to fill the hole in our family. Twenty-four years have passed since I was able to hug you, and tell you how much I love you. Twenty-four years have passed... and there has not been a single day that you have not been on my mind. There has not been a day that I don't curse the injustice of you being taken away from us long before your time was finished. I feel a hole in my heart that our beautiful nieces will never get the chance to meet their Aunt Juju, who would have loved them unconditionally, and been so proud of all the accomplishments they have already made. I will forever cherish the time we shared, and forever hold a small sliver of jealousy that others were able to know you for even a second longer than I did. I think of you every day, and strive to be the type of woman, friend, and sister that I know you would have been proud of. The impact you have made on my life is indescribable, and no other person will ever take your place in my heart. I truly wish that you were here... I wish that things had been different... I wish that I had one more moment to tell you how much I love you, and to thank you for making me who I am today. But dwelling on wishes and dreams won't bring you back, no matter how much I would like it to. So as I do every day, I will pick myself up, dust myself off, and remember that you would never want anyone to think of you and be anything but happy. It's official y'all... my baby girl is now available for adoption at St. Hubert's! She was just cleared by our vet today. I am SO happy with how far she has come. She is finally at a healthy weight, off antibiotics, and she is ready to find her forever home. Thank you to St. Hubert's for being the type of organization that doesn't give up on animals like Kiki. She had such a rough start, but I know she'll make a wonderful pet for whomever her new owners may be. We'll miss her, but now Vinnie and I can continue helping other pets heal in foster care with us. Thank you to everyone who sent positive energy her way... this little lady will forever hold a special place in my heart. ♡ (at St Huberts Animal Welfare Center)
