"Yes? Is there something you needed from me? You’ve been staring."
No, I was just distracted. I'm sorry.
Davina Claire + Sass
Piper Montgomery + moodboard -- light up, light up, as if you have a choice
But we have a treaty with them—a treaty that we’ve sworn to honor and uphold! And the pirates…they’re humans too, aren’t they? They might be our common enemy, but you can’t just ignore the fact that we’re closer to them than the merpeople are, and that pirates were born from us and not them. It’s our responsibility to do everything in our power to ensure that the pirates aren’t able to rule the seas like this anymore, and letting them get away with murder isn’t exactly helping.
Oh, goodness…I’m so sorry, miss. I did not mean to get carried away like that. Just—we haven’t met before, have we? I’m Serena…Serena Belrose.
I know we do, one I believe most people are trying to keep. Not everyone is able to help, though. The pirates are dangerous --not just them, really. It needs to be handled by people who actually can do it without endangering everyone else. I do agree with what you said, though. I don't think it's correct to murder someone, anyone.
It's okay, I understand your frustration. It's nice to meet you, though. I'm Piper Montgomery.
Hold On | Piper & Lorien
Lorien wasnt entirely sure what to make of the younger female. She was obviously drunk, or at least well on her way to being drunk. Keeping his hands at her shoulders, he looked past her, hoping to see if she had anyone attending the event with her. Pursing his lips, he lowered his head to look down at her, and with a light smile shook his head. "its quite alright…But perhaps you should stop drinking?" He was honestly curious as to why someone would let themselves go at such an event. The thought of leaving her occurred to him, but the poor girl was beyond being able to take care of herself. Besides, she reminded him of his sister Nunnelly. if she kept drinking at the rate she was though, she would pass out, and waking with a headache would be the least of her problems. ”..Or at least trade these drinks for water…” he kept his hands at her shoulders then and maneuvered her toward the drink table where he attempted to find something other then cheep beer.
Piper couldn't even fathom why the stranger was suggesting she should stop drinking. Had he seen her before, he would sure think this was for the best, not to mention how truly relaxed she was after those few glasses. Pulling her lip between her teeth, the brunette glanced up at him and blinked, considering telling him no. Still, drunk or not, she had no desire to be rude. "Okay."
Following the young man's lead --mostly she couldn't even see where she was going without tripping so the hands on her shoulders telling her the right way to take were most welcomed--, Piper felt the curiosity creep and glanced up at him over her shoulder, managing a small smile. "Am I keeping you from something? I really don't want to keep you from something important," her lips were still parted and she was sure to be about to say something else, but the thought slipped her mind and she figured it was for the best to stop rambling.
"I like tea, is tea okay?" She hummed, leaning her back against the man's torso and exhaling a tired breath.
The humans can, at the very least, make some sort of attempt to assist the merpeople in finding their lost princess instead of just sitting around and doing…well, nothing. Honestly, I—as a whole, their—our—species is proving to be rather unproductive. King Christian is an excellent ruler, and I wouldn’t ever say anything against him, but…imagine if he had been the one that the pirates had stolen away. He would have been found in an instant—there would have been none of this waiting around nonsense.
Oh, the princess. --Um, yeah, I've heard about what happened. I do believe there is an amount of people trying to find her, but even humans can do only so much. I hope they find her soon and well, if that helps in any way. That is rather unfair, miss. The merpeople must be looking for their princess and I am more than assure that their efforts are always going to be bigger and more dedicated to their ruler, not our own. It would be the same with our king.
…The seas are getting worse and worse with each day that passes. Surely the humans—I mean, surely we—should have been able to get a handle on things by now, shouldn’t we?
The humans can’t handle or control the sea, miss. I’m afraid only merpeople can.
Live a little, make opinions based on what you see yourself! Don’t let me hype you up too much, but just…try and have a good time. That’s what these things are all about, aren’t they? Oh,you’re a cute one; deflecting my compliment, are you? Cheeky. Very cheeky.
I'm good with the simplicity of this idea, though. It's a party and people and I usually don't get along all that well. Mostly I don't, really. I think you're right, though, and that's why I'm here. I figured it should be applied to those who deserve it best, even if I do appreciate it. So thank you. --And yes, cheeky.
Unless you’re capable of bringing an entire fleet of pirates to their knees, including one of the infamous and so called lords then…no. I highly doubt that there’s anything that you, or anyone else for that matter, can do.
But I…thank you. You’re very kind for offering. They’ve taken me because I’m the princess of my kingdom…the mer kingdom. Supposedly, this is their attempt to refute the truce that was made between my family and Christian Bennet’s. I’m assuming that you’re a human as well, miss…?
No, unfortunately I can't even get close to that. I'm so sorry, though.
Oh--Oh. That's... I don't know what to say. I didn't know you were... Sorry, I just--Yes, I'm human.
Hold On | Piper & Lorien
A party with so many people involved was definitely not something Piper would call her comfort zone, and even when she tried to move around as if it was, everyone seemed to be able to tell she wasn't used to these kinds of things. That small laughs and gentle smiles didn't bother her, it was nothing more than an attempt to be polite to a girl who should be used to dealing with people instead of hiding behind work at a small shop and the excuse that it got her too tired to actually go out. However, at some point she started to feel left out, watching everyone have fun while she was stuck feeling uncomfortable.
Only then the drinking started; everyone seemed to be believe alcohol was good at shaking off one's inibitions and Piper figured it was time to try. It couldn't hurt, she realized. If it did, she could just walk out and act as if it never happened. Not many drinks after, the brunette lost count and her world seemed to turn a little bit faster. She was undoubtedly less nervous, so maybe that was one of the good side efects. Pushing herself away from a drink table, Piper giggled when she nearly tripped over a small rock on the ground, gaze locked down as she tried to walk away. Too distracted and with nothing but a small reflex to warn her, she ended up crashing into someone, her drink falling down.
"Noooo!" She whined dramatically, unaware that she was still leaning against the stranger. "Now I need another." Piper giggled, finally looking up. "Oh, hi. Sorry, sorry."
Considering that I’ve been kept bound and shackled on a pirate ship for the past week or so, no, I’m not okay. But thank you for asking, miss…?
What? That's horrible, my God. Can I do anything for you? I just--I don't know what to say. I can't even begin to understand why someone would do that.

…I just want to be taken home.
Oh, um... Are you okay?
Things of that nature, yeah, though it’s possible that I might be exaggerating the hysterics of it all. The food is good, don’t hesitate to dig in! I’d love to join you, mademoiselle; an evening is always more entertaining when one has a pretty little lady on his arm.
Don't tell me that, my fun will be based on those reactions. I'd rather keep dreaming of angered people shouting over bakery. I won't, believe me, if there's anything I love is food. --Now let's find you that pretty lady. In the meantime, I appreciate the compliment.
Mostly? Well…there are a lot of different things you can do here, but I think that really adds to the fun and experience of it all, yeah? Might I suggest watching the pie contest? It’s a riot to watch some of the older folks get heated over who made the best blueberry pie. And I’m having a wonderful time; this is a nice break from my real life.
Do they actually do that? It's foolish to waste time distressing over such a thing, especially when they're clearly all so good at it. You can smell it from here! I might follow that suggestion. I'm happy for you. I believe I can relate, to some extent. Care to join me?
No worries; no harm over spilt milk. Are you enjoying the festival, mademoiselle?
Oh, um... Yes, mostly. I have no idea where to turn to first, but it's rather beautiful, isn't it? Everyone seems so happy and relaxed... Are you enjoying it?
