Head tilted slightly as he listened to the girl talk about enjoying herself. It seemed rare that someone actually enjoyed themselves at these events. At least sober. His eyes laid on the empty glass she had just placed on the bar before back up to meet her glance. “I mean, I can’t really disagree with that,” he chuckled, turning his attention a loud group of frat and sorority girls making their way across the room towards the bar. They always seemed to be so much louder than necessary, and if Jake wasn’t so out of it, it would’ve been annoying. At the point, his mind was all over the place that he wasn’t focused on it for long before he had taken his mask off and was looking at Piper. Her reaction had caught him off guard, not aware of the dilated eyes or the fact that he was very obviously high off of cocaine. “What are you talking about, Pipe?” he asked, head tilting once again, only this time due to confusion. After realizing what she was talking about, he just chuckled as a smirk came to pull at his lips. “Nobody will even notice. I mean, fuck, half of these people are drunk right now anyways.” Jake let her tie the mask back around his eyes, only letting out a sigh. There was something about Piper that calmed him down, and it was probably best if he just listened to her. “I want to stay in here,” Jake argued. While he knew what was best, that didn’t mean that he was going to listen to that angel on his shoulder. “Look, don’t worry about me. Come on, I actually feel… alive. Let me have this high.” Jake turned to grab her another drink and placed it in front of her. “Drink up. After, we are going to dance.”
Piper watched the group made their way to the bar, as Jake was. She didn’t mind the noise, they were just trying to have fun. Different people have fun in different ways. In Jake’s case, though, Piper wasn’t a fan of his idea of fun. With a cross of her arms on her chest, she gave Jake her best authority look. Piper wasn’t trying to take his fun away from him, she just wanted to keep him safe and out of trouble. “Half may be drunk, but what about the other half that are not?” She tested, her eyebrow raising. Piper tried not to smile, she wanted to remain strong willed. However, they way he argued with her reminded her of a small child not getting his way. Except alcohol and drugs were in the mix. Piper cracked and a smile fell upon her lips. She took the drink in her hand, tilting her head back and chugging the whole glass. “I”ll have fun with you tonight, but the next time I see you like this, Jake.” Piper paused shaking her head and placing a hand on his shoulder. “You are not getting away with it this easy.” Her hand that rested on his shoulder, dropped to his hand. Piper clasped it around his, before pulling him in the middle of the crowd. She stood in front of him with a childish smile on her face before crossing her arms against her chest, once more. “Aren’t you going to ask me to dance, the proper way a gentleman would?” Piper’s head cocked to the side, a smirk forming to her lips.
