I made shoelaces for my barefoot shoes (which I got secondhand from a friend)! I may need to shorten them a bit, and at least enforce the ends, but they work for now 🙂

The yarn was from a bag of yarn scraps I got from my aunt and her friend, and I used my cordsmith I made last year.

I ended up making a new post about the cord tool I used to make these.

Here's a little video of my cord tool or "cordsmith". This one has 3 latch hooks with a polymer clay handle. I happened to have glow in the dark clay when I was making these, so the light part of the marbling glows 😂

I actually have three of these, with 2, 3 and 4 hooks. I don't have the 4 hook one with me right now, but here's a photo of the other two

Remember kids: Breaks aren't optional during 10 hour knitting marathons, even if they're fueled by ADHD hyperfocus.

I am now on a 2 week knit and crochet break and I kinda want to sue the universe for this cruel and unusual punishment.

At least I managed to finish the sock I was making...

Update: Probably not a surprise to anyone aside from myself, but it's tendonitis 😅 Could've probably been worse though. Tendonitis at least should go away on its own, as long as I play nice and keep using the splint, take my painkillers and let it rest.

I'm finally continuing the pair of "mismatched" long socks for my mom! I started them ages ago, but ADHD did what it always does and also the long cuffs are intimidating 😅 Thankfully she explicitly doesn't want the entire cuffs to be one single type of stitch, variety makes it easier for me to stay interested in a project (yes, the hoodie was a very difficult to finish bc of that). The length of the cuffs isn't specified, I will just knit until I run out of the yarn balls 😄

Mom's socks are finished! I technically cheated a little bit, because I didn't knit until the yarn ran out, but the leftover yarn balls are tiny, maybe the size of a walnut, so I was forgiven 😅

Mom wanted it to be known here, that she loves them AND so do people around her 😁 Apparently she has gotten a lot of compliments saying they look just like her.

They're also so comfortable that she started knitting leg warmers imitating the cuffs, and every now and then I get messages asking how I did a certain part of how many stitches I did, etc. Which is fun, because I didn't write ANYTHING down 😆😅

I finished a scarf! I've mostly used either square scarves or shawls, but I got an itch for a classic long scarf with tassels, so I made one :D

It was knitted on 6mm needles and k1p1 ribbing, and the yarn I used was from an abandoned project I unraveled. I think 5 balls in total, plus scraps from other projects I then used for tassels. This is the same colour changing yarn as the cowl and the cardigan and it's interesting to me how much the colour pattern changes depending on technique, tools, what you are making and if it's a single yarn of multiple.

I've been more quiet this Solarpunk Aesthetic Week than I planned, partially because I've been TIRED (I've been more social than usual and that's always draining for me), but also because I've been busy finishing my cardigan. By principle I never admit any of my bigger, personal craft projects are 100% finished, but this one is "finished for now"

It's the classic hexagon cardigan pattern, with two lined granny square pockets. It also works excellently as a throw blanket 😂

This was my first hexagon cardigan, so it's tiny bit wonky and I love it so much 🥰

The hoodie is finished!!!!

Took ages, because I'm a chronic pattern avoider so I had to frog part of the way several times, but I persevered and it is now done!

I've been thinking of embroidering something on it, but I haven't decided what yet and it can wait until later anyway.

I used 7 Veljestä yarn by Novita, in colours Korvasieni ("false morel", the brown) and Artisokka ("artichoke" the green).

Chunky probably. I don't usually knit with either, but lace weight risks losing my interest fast.

When I was around 8-10 year old, I think. I'm not 100% sure, but it was before we started learning knitting at hand craft classes at school.

The finishing line for the hoodie is approaching! The second sleeve is about halfway done and then it's just the front pocket and weaving in the ends and it's wearable!

I still haven't made up my mind about adding decorations and a zipper, but those can be added later if I so choose :)

I finally got to knit sleeves on my hoodie, and unfortunately saw I had become a victim of dye lots. Again.

I knew the lots were different but I was hoping it wouldn't be noticeable 😓 I know the difference isn't really even that drastic, the new yarn is just ever so slightly less grey, but it still bugs me...
