Sevika entered the Last Drop, her eyes scanning the full room that feels completely empty. There was an uncomfortable feeling she couldn’t shake off. Like she lost something, but had no idea what. Something was wrong.
It took Sevika another couple of days before she realized she was subconsciously looking for you. It was odd to not make yourself known and give her tokens or say a few flirty things. It was odd to not see your figure slouched over the emptying bar just to wait for her to get back. She wouldn’t admit it, but she was missing you and it was worrying her not having you around.
Everything hurt. Breathing was difficult every inhale felt like your lungs were being constricted, unable to expand. Your head felt heavy as you tried to look up. Your right eye was throbbing, the vision blurry. Bruised.
Parts of your face felt sticky, cuts on your face and lip was stinging. Your wrists and ankles burned from the ropes that tied you to the chair. You wanted to cry as you tried to make out the figures in the dark room. You felt hopeless and scared.
The man that walked under the light was not familiar to you. Silent tears fell from your orbs. “What do you want with me?” You ask weakly, throat dry, energy clearly drained out of you. You don’t remember how long its been, all you remember was, getting hit at the back of the head, that day.
You sat on the ground staring at the ruined meal in front of you. You couldn’t help but cry. There was something about today’s rejection that hit hard. There was something about today’s rejection that felt…real. Like she really meant it this time. Sniffling, you wipe your face with your sleeve and got up, opting to continue the cry fest at home and not out in public. But just as you got up, your world turned black.
“Maybe I was mistaken, perhaps she didn’t value you at all.” the statement confused you. Your brows furrowing, wondering what the man was referring to. “Sevika would have come for you by now.” He continues. The realization that you were abducted to be used against Silco’s right hand hit you. Just the mere name made you feel all kinds of pain. And to be honest, you’d rather go through all the beating you’ve gone through the past few days than feel what you felt that day.
Not faltering, you glare at the man. “You’re mistaken. She cares about no one. Everyone knows that woman has no heart.” The man stared at you, contemplating if there was truth behind your words. “You could leave me here for dead and she wouldn’t even notice I was gone.” As painful as it was to realize it, it was excruciating admitting it out loud. Tears continued to fall your face. “Ah, but you care about her no?” the man says fake pity in his voice. “We’ll see. I have a feeling she’s not as strong as she puts up. If that scary lady had something to be scared of, it would be losing you.” Your cold, hard eyes followed the man until he disappeared into the dark. Not once did you ever think that the feelings you harbored for Sevika would be the reason you’d pass away.
The smell of iron fills your nose, you sniffle in hopes to stop the blood from dripping down to your lips. The taste of metallic was becoming familiar in your mouth. Your eyes fluttered open, as you struggled to keep your head up. Getting beaten was something you’ve learned to expect. How you managed to survive was beyond you.
The ringing in your ears was slowly fading, turning into a groggy mess. You couldn’t make out the voices, nor the words, but it was loud, and distant. Your eyes blinked trying to focus when you heard the door bang open.
Worried eyes locked with your tear filled ones. You knew those eyes somewhere but you couldn’t identify them. The person you knew those eyes belonged to never once held that look.
They say something to you, but with the punching you just encountered, made it difficult to focus. They firmly, but gently grip your face to try and take a quick look at your state. The last thing you remember were your restraints loosening, and your body falling forward as your world turned dark.
You sat at the edge of the bed, eyes on the floor as you listen to the boots of the woman walk around the room. It’s been a few days since your abduction. You wanted to leave this place, but Sevika wouldn’t let you. Infact, she hasn’t really let you get out of her sight much the past few days. Everything was settled, the man already taken care of the day you were “rescued,” if you could call it that.
Sevika sits on the stool in front of you, the hard gaze no longer holding the cold that you were familiar with. You stared into her eyes wondering what could have changed as she got to tending your injuries.
“I want to go.” you muttered, eyes still on hers. You felt her hand pause. “No.” You could easily get out of her place. She didn’t keep you locked, nor tied, a part of you wants to stay, but the more rational part of you is thinking it would be better to go. It would be less painful and you wouldn’t cry so much.
It was silent for awhile as you let her treat you.
“Why’d you get me Sevika?” For the first time since you’ve known the woman, her eyes softened. Those steely eyes that scared everyone, held warmth and comfort, worry. “ I didn’t like you being apart from me.” she said, her tone low.
Confused. All the times you’ve made the effort and clung onto the woman, she always made you feel like all she wanted was you gone. “But you said-”
“I know what I said. Everyday, Everytime you’d do something for me, I knew what I would say and do. But I-, I- never thought it would hurt this bad if my words would come true.”
Then came the shock. You never expected to see Sevika like this. Vulnerable, and trusting. “If I could take back every hurtful things I’ve done, hurtful word I’ve told you, I would.” her actions stopped as she stared into your orbs letting you know just how genuine and sorry she was. “All I could do now, is to show you and let you know just exactly how much you mean to me. That is, if you’ll let me.”
Your eyes couldn’t help but tear up, you sniffle and look away, ashamed to be seen crying. “I’ll think about it” you managed to utter. She nods, as a new understanding settles between the two of you. “That’s more than enough for me.” Sevika replies just as she finishes her ministrations. Your cuts and bruises clean and fresh with new bandages.
Sevika leans forward, elbows resting on her thighs. Her face dangerously close with yours. “Please tell me you’re okay.” she hesitates to ask, but she needed to know. You see the guilt in her face as she gently caresses your face, the ghost of her fingertips going over your cuts. You give her a small smile, “It hurts, but I’ll live.”
