Did you know that MATEO FLORES has called Bluebell home for ONE MONTH? It’s hard to believe that the TWENTY ONE year old CIS MALE looks so much like DIEGO TINOCO. Word around town is that HE is ARGUMENTATIVE and NARCISSISTIC  but I think they are INDEPENDENT and WITTY. Last I heard, they were working as a CASHIER AT PAGETURNERS.

mateo was the spoiled youngest child of a family of very wealthy people. his life was comfortable, and then all of a sudden his beautiful facade broke. 

mateo as the youngest wasn’t privy to information as to what his parents and older brothers did. and to this day he doesn’t have the exact information, all he knows is that his father is in prison for drug embezzlement, his brother is on the verge of losing his lawyer license and his life crumbled. 

with the last little bit of money being shoved into his hands, mateo was shunned from the family as he was the only untainted one with no knowledge of it, he was made to move quickly to bluebell, change his last name and never discuss it.  

he’s always been a clean kid, he’s never once touched hard drugs, just the occasional weed. he’s confused and lost honestly. 

he’s also very quiet, was very vocal back in the day but now he’s alone for the first time in his life after being surrounded by people all his life. so he’s also bitter and a little aggressive because he can’t even tell people why he’s so mad considering his family is super disgraced rn. 

why bluebell? WC, he met a girl somewhere in the world and they were young and had a fling. most likely a summer fling and mateo was an awful boyfriend, he probably cheated and she left him and a couple months later informed him she was pregnant. he hasn’t had physical contact with his child until now and even now he’s very ready to be involved in his child’s life but hesitant because he’s such a massive child too. prob not gonna work on this one much until i have the WC filled

friends: probably ppl he met either while they were shopping at the bookstore or the club or really anywhere. he’s super outgoing even with his tough exterior

roommates: rlly however many. he’s v low on money and honestly HATES sharing 

hookups/fwb: p self explanatory. they could be reoccuring or not, he’s pretty much numbing the pain. he’s gay!

people he suggests books to: this is pretty much anyone that steps into the shop, but these particular people he’d go out of his way to find them the perfect read.

Word around town is that HE is OBSESSIVE and MYSTERIOUS but I think they are LOYAL and BIG HEARTED. Last I heard, they were working as the OWNER OF FANCIE’S.

hellooooo gonna keep this short & sweet! but hi i am m!! 

welcome to teddy. so tl;dr version bc am extremely lazy tonight... he was 4 when his parents perished in a fire. he’s been terrified of it ever since. teddy got out of the house unharmed but the house burned as did his parents (rip). he doesn’t like to talk about it at allll. this was all in brighton, england, the place of his birth. 

after that he had to move to only available family which was his grandmother in bluebell! in bluebell she gave him a happy life and he almost got over not having a family. 

bluebell was a wholesome town that welcome him in a big hug and he just.. he loves it. he’s never left and has no intentions to.

he was 16 when he got his first job as a dishwasher at fancie’s and worked his way up to line cook and eventually he bought it out. so now he owns the fanciest restaurant in town and ofc he’s a chef so there’s fire but like batman , he was conquered his fear to contain it when he’s in control.

he’s got a huge heart and wants to be there for everyone at all times, but isn’t the best at communicating his own feelings

is alwaysssss down for drinks and a chat and platonic cuddles hell yeah 

he’s a biG CUDDLY TEDDY BEAR he just wants to fix the world. is alwayssss willing to cook like 10/10 will cook anything you want him to. 

owning the restaurant is still fairly new (~1 year) and so he’s still a crazy workaholic and ends up working all the time even if he doesn’t need to

he lives in the house he grew up in, it’s a little old lady home... like he hasn’t decorated it at alll since his grandma passed. he also has his childhood cat tonkie who is... rather old but still kicking around.

childhood friends: anyone close in age that would’ve grown up in bluebell and known teddy from school or anything y’know. he hasn’t attended church since his grandma passed but y’know, it’s just something we can plot out

coworkers: either hired by him or prior! he’ll be the best boss tbh 

brunch buds: yoga and brunch dates on sunday???? pls. bottomless mimosas here he comessss

exes: he’s a pretty deep lover so most relationships would be on the longer side and would have not worked for a variety of reasons. he’s pansexual!!

ONE TERRIBLE REALLY TOXIC EX: we can plot this out but really just, awful ex. they’re awful to each other i don’t even think they’re bad people but it just turned bad  by the end of it. MAYBE THEY WERE FIANCES idk we’ll figure it out okay

lil sibling: just someone that teddy can fuss over and take care of because he’s such a giver 

cat walking friend: yes, teddy’s the type to walk his cat because he has social anxiety and tonkie has to come with him. so like!! some other crazy cat person to do this with him 

failed dates: maybe they went on a string of casual dates and just stopped talking for no reason?

blue eyes travelled across the room with a flash, scanning the single dads eddie went on about. “that’s a fair point, they’re not at all bad to look at. but i doubt all the dads in here are single — just saying.” she said with a wink and a quick grin at eddie, although it faded rather fast as her eyes went back to linger at one of the babies. happy to divert the conversation back to food, dominique straightened up and raised an eyebrow at her friend. “honestly i don’t think i’ve ever heard a better idea come out of that mouth of yours, although i can’t help but question how good of a summer salad it really is when they serve it outside of summer.” 

‘they’re quite easy on the eyes, if you’re asking me.’ eddie grins too, being a little too blindsided to notice the longing look dominique gives to the baby. ‘i’m over this heartbreak; i want a man, dom. where do you find men these days? someone mature and settled. sounds impossible.’ eddie chuckles lowly and nods at her fair point, ‘you’re right. maybe they ought to have a spring salad. or maybe they’re just longing for summer already. i know i am.’

Brows can’t help but raise in surprise, “You’re uh…you’re talking to me?” He questioned, still a little taken aback when guys that were as handsome as Eddie addressed him, “Um…They have killer tots.”

‘it would be so beyond humiliating if i weren’t.’ eddie jokes with a little scrunch of his nose. ‘two tots, then? i’ll buy, i just got this mega promotion at work and y’know that pay-it-forward thing. i’m eddie, by the way!’

“That’s true,” A lot could change in two years, and with his luck, someone would swoop Ed up in no time. Mateo chuckled at his friend’s blunt words. He has thought about having sex with Ed before, but it was a lot more fun to tease his friend. “Behave yourself, Eddie.” He joked before he sweetly smiled at the waitress. Once she was gone, Matt spoke again, “Didn’t you try hard enough? Normally guys are all over you.”

ed was joking, most of the time, but in other ways he wasn’t joking at all. of course there was something here, something he’d never thought twice about before but now they were getting dangerously close to a stupid pact they made at 13. ‘make me, mateo.’ eddie flashed the other a mischievous smirk, wondering if he’d ever do it to just catch him by surprise. ‘it’s not that, it’s just... stupid. i haven’t even taken the ring off. it’s been two months since i walked in on that bastard and i can’t even take the ring off. pretty sure i’m destined for a life alone. till you marry me, of course.’

‘oh hush! i’m too distracted scoping the single dads to focus on your food.’ but eddie cracked a grin at the girl in front of him and did eventually turn his undivided attention to her. ‘pesto and mozzarella, yup! i want that, that sounds divine. you should get the summer strawberry salad-- the irony being it’s march-- and we should split the food.’
