Tumblr Reflection
I’ve never had the habit of constantly penning down my discoveries and reflecting on every part of my work process. All of that happened in my head, and in the countless tabs I leave open on my browser window. This online reflective journal really helped me to keep track of my progress and not lose all the pictures of works I gained inspiration from. It’s a really organised and thus, effective way of working.
In the beginning, I did find it unnecessary to leave comments on all the works that showed up on my dashboard. You were already expressing your interest and appreciation in a work simply by reblogging it, because reblogging it adds the post into your archive which is your collection of things that inspire you. But after some time, I started to see how it can be helpful both for myself and my fellow Frankensteiners.
I may have reblogged a work because of one element that caught my eye. Someone else could reblog it for a different reason. We all see and think differently. That’s the beauty of having this shared space. We are constantly bouncing ideas off one another. So many of my classmates have played a part in building my final idea without even realising it. Even more importantly, they’ve unknowingly helped build my interest in certain things outside of this project.
I really enjoyed doing this online reflective journal. It wouldn’t have been as fun and helpful if it wasn’t done together on a shared space like Tumblr, where we can all work together in a way.
