(Made for headphones listening, but Tumblr seems to change the volume of the song on its own...) Well, I thought I could finally, very slowly start using this blog for what I made it for: posting my BGM compositions! This one was a request for @thaumana, who has been working on a project for his thesis and beyond: a videogame set in rural Vietnam. I aim to be able to provide a whole OST! Musically, my goal is to make the BGM sound like a little Vietnamese girl from Germany getting to know Vietnam in her own way - like the protagonist of @thaumana‘s game!

Music-theory-wise, I know there isn’t much going on in this piece, but culturally I tried to apply many things from my own point of view, us being Vietnamese and all ;) A lot of thought went into making it sound not just generally Asian, but specifically Vietnamese enough, while at the same time not making it sound too perfectly like a Vietnamese karaoke folk playback. I really wanted to get that “Vietnamese heritage, but Overseas ears” vibe across. Hoping to nail it down even more in possible future pieces for this setup! Soundfonts used: -GeneralUser GS 1.4 -DSK Asian SF -Qasar Belafon
