I know this is Mai, not Toph, but it reminds me of the joking answer that while Lin's dad is some guy named Kanto, Suyin's dad is Azula.

Genuinely the Discord and I went off on brainstorming what's up with Kanto but we have no thoughts on Suyin's dad. I think my only thought there is that I don't think any of the main Gaang would be Suyin's bio dad. Like even in a 'Toph wants a kid but also wants a sperm donor who will keep in contact for an updated medical history' way because they'd be inclined to be more parental to her.

Do you think that the Yue thing has ever happened before? A Spirit giving part of its life and then dying and the mortal Ascending? Closest thing is whatever nonsense Raava and Wan did to make the Avatar Cycle but it's not quite the same.

Hmm, you know that off habd Azula/Jin mention gives me an idea...

A mostly canon compliant post canon where Azula actually does get redeemed though it's mostly therapy with her heading out to work with Iroh at the Jasmin dragon as a sorta de-stresser as she gets away from everything

She doesn't wanna deal with the whole 'princess who conquered this city' reputation though so to anyone who asks she's just a humble waitress, mabey throw in off hand mention of her brother 'Lee' from Iroh

...then Jin hears about the boy she sorta had a thing with's sister being around and starts turning up...

"He has a sister, you say? Is she cute?"

I don't think working there is really Azula's vibe but it's funny to imagine.

Actually relating to that Apollo kidnaps his kids for bonding time so you think the other gods would do the same?

Hephaestus kidnaps his kids and lets them into one of his workshops while he works. They don't really interact but they do validate each other's work and appreciate the others presence. Or Hephaestus gets really involved in whatever his kid is building.

Aphrodite casually going on shopping trips with her kids. She honestly forgot how fun shopping can be in a group can be. Liable to have the kid's love lives extremely judged but gossip flows both ways. The kids never knew such Olympian drama before.

Hermes has the most varied "field trips" with ya'know all his responsibilities and domains. Maybe business minded kids get experience early, maybe some kids go on a heist, maybe Hermes shows up to his kids sports meets?

I think it needs to happen. But also the kids wanted the gods to acknowledge them more. Unfortunately and fortunately this means the gods now see themselves as able to just waltz into their lives.

So yes they're paying attention to their kids now but it is messy and clearly good-hearted they're doing a bonding activity together but also they don't 'get' that suddenly being yoinked away from everything for a week is disruptive and freaks people out.

Imagine if Azulon's punishment for Ozai had been banishment, with the condition that he can return and restore his honor if, and only if, he can find and capture the Avatar.

And then Ozai just plagiarized that two years later to get rid of Zuko.

Genuinely though I do have it that Azulon was going to have Ozai kicked in some way. At the very least he was banning Ozai from the throne entirely. Iroh was still his heir, but if Iroh died then the title jumps over Ozai and straight to Zuko(some stipulations depending on if Zuko was underage at the time, but Ozai would not be his regent in the interim). Whether or not Ozai would be tossed out of the Royal Family entirely remains to be seen, but Azulon was killed before that happened. I do think 'banished and put on a quest that is deemed impossible' is a pretty good way of kicking someone out with the intention they never return.

I actually have a couple scenes in my head with like. Zuko does kinda figure out on his own that this is probably what happened because Azulon ordering another death in the family is... out of place.

This is confirmed by Azula post-redemption arc in that Azulon never /said/ that, but Ozai told her to say that he had. (Ursa is a bit distressed at this news)

There's also a bit in my head of Toph helping Zuko find a secret compartment with some documents that include Azulon's orders to disinherit Ozai. Like it doesn't /matter/ now but Zuko was wondering if there were any hidden secrets so that's fun.

Honestly, I have to imagine Ozai is ALSO displeased at Zuko looking so much like him, given his almost immediate negative reaction to him in flashbacks.

Like I find this hilarious given the entire setup for /why/ Ozai is particularly cruel to Zuko.

Because because because

So like. There's a point where Ursa wrote a letter implying that Zuko isn't actually Ozai's son. And this was something she made up to make Ozai confront her and confirm to her that he was stealing her letters. She assured him that Zuko was his but 1.) she outright said that she wished Zuko wasn't his and 2.) can Ozai actually trust her to be telling the truth here?

So yeah between him being petty and wanting to hurt her and his doubts despite her reassurance, Ozai says 'fine. You want him to be not mine? I'll treat him like he's not mine.' and thus he goes from the blanket assholery he is toward the rest of the family to targeting Zuko in particular.

And I think it'd be funny in like. When Zuko was younger, it might've been harder to tell. Kids are always a little roundfaced and hard to see family resemblance.

Then Zuko is thirteen and just barely starting puberty that would help define his features and whoops he's banished.

Three years later he's allowed to come back and Ozai is facing down a boy that quite clearly looks like a younger version of himself. The boy having supposedly managed to kill the Avatar and helped Azula conquer Ba Sing Sae.

Perhaps his son can be useful after all.

Meanwhile. Azula is growing up too. And every day she looks more and more like Ursa.

Saw the ask about the new episode justifying Mari's paranoia, and the reverse is also true. The new episode shows how waiting so long will leave her even more isolated with more to deal with, instead of just having one thing to tackle at a time.

Anyway. Thinking about this now because A) she's mentioned that she has allies we haven't seen yet, and there's been talk about a "traitor" among the Miraculers B) I just remembered that the promo the official Miraculous account released for Secret Protocol was a picture of the Rooster miraculous.

But Marc wasn't in the episode. Rooster Bold wasn't featured at all. Okay if part of the "shocking" Nemesis twist, the S7 promo including that Marinette has learned "some people aren't who they appeared to be"- if Marc is working with Chrysalis then. Well. It'd at least be something interesting for him.

I mean I assume that either

1.) Lila's disguise skills have been upgraded from wigs to fatsuits

and/or

2.) Chameleon can just. Turn herself into other Akumas now.

Either way I can work with it.

That said I am worried about Marc now.

Saw just a funny headconnon for secret protocol. Lila wasn't actually trying to go for the miraculous or concrete proof Marinette=Ladybug in the episode, she solely was doing it because she was bored as hell and gets entertainment from messing with Marinette. The psychological horror was just a bonus

In a wierd way this is sorta Chloe's situation in reverse, like asstruck presented with a character that we are clearly supposed to hate and has clearly said "theirs something wrong with that girl and not in a normal teenage way, that child is clearly the embodiment of evil, if not for the shows age rating I would have absolutely killed her off." And yet no matter how much tries to double down on her negative trates and erase her goods ones we only see her with more sympathy

Sooo i just had an OH SHIT moment thanks to someone bring up something from the new episode I didn't even realize, Tom gave Lila the keys to the house cuz she as Uncle Wang needed to go back inside to grab her gift.... and we never see Tom get the keys back.

On one hand Lila doesn't exactly need the house keys to get in she has half a dozen other options I can think of off the top of my head.

You think after Apollo regained his divinity he did a bonding thing with each of his kids? Like he would definitely be affected by his time while powerless. So when he's up and stable he takes his kids for the day to do something?

Because I want him and a farm kid Apollo kid oc to wrangle his herd of sacred cattle. Like nothing's wrong with the cattle but he knows that this is something farm kid knows how to do. So he invites (kidnaps) his kids from CHB and they just spend the day together. I want Apollo to try and bond with each of kids.
