I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere before, but the events of kana5 where kanade collapses and mafuyu finds her is such an obvious parallel to kanade’s father. the yoisaki both collapse from stretching themselves thin, on trying to produce music that is unreachable. we have come full circle where kanade has indirectly caused her father’s hospitalization and mafuyu indirectly causing kanade to overwork herself.
the implications are that it’s kanade is determined to produce the sound that will save mafuyu, but in reality it’s a fruitless endeavor. realistically, mafuyu doesn’t need kanade to compose songs for her, but kanade uses this as a coping mechanism to distract herself from all of her problems that is not helped by her lifestyle.
also, it’s a bit ironic that kanade is the one who wants to save others but has been literally been saved by mafuyu and honami.
