So, What is Project Maplemoon?
Project Maplemoon is a codename I'm using for a comic series I plan to eventually write starring my four main original characters. The series will take place in the town of Maplemoon Valley and will focus around Brooke (a fox), Amanda (a kangaroo), Molly (a deer), and Stella (a wolf). Fresh out of college, the four girls struggle to find work and, after realizing how similar their situations are, decide to pool the funds they have left and begin living together in a four-person suite apartment while they attempt to figure out their own next steps. The series will explore the differences between the girls as they are forced to live together and get to know each other, and will eventually delve into each of the characters' histories and their respective personal struggles.
At the current moment, I am in the "conceptualization" stage of this project, meaning I'm pretty early on in development and thus I can't yet provide an accurate estimate on how long it will take for a fully-fledged comic to be released. I plan to map out most of the storyline for the entire series before producing a "pilot episode", and a lot of my current focus art-wise is going toward character design and set layout. I plan to use this account as a repository for concept art and ideas for the series until I'm finally ready to start producing full comic pages.
I'm very open to engagement over the project and genuinely encourage those who are interested to ask questions, critique characters and ideas, and just generally talk to me about what you'd personally like to see from Project Maplemoon! Until I feel ready to begin production on full "episodes", you can expect me to share character sketches, work-in-progress backgrounds, and other conceptual art pieces that will hopefully provide an image of the direction I'm aiming for.
