Dengeki Exclusive Kyosuke Kousaka
My very first exclusive figure! I have to say I’m really proud of him. He’s a little smaller than I was expecting (he’s actually not 1/10 as he’s listed– he’s smaller than a 1/12 and about the right size for playing around with with figma) but it was actually worth it to me to finally get a figure of him! I love OreImo and he’s my favorite character (really. I love Kirino but the show just wouldn’t work without him).
Taking pictures of him was hard, though– it was impossible to get him into focus! I don’t exactly have a high-quality camera for this or anything, so, sometimes I struggle with smaller figures (although this is a recent thing, as I didn’t have any trouble at all when I first got the thing). My apologies for the background… It’s just the insert from his box. But it works!
Kotobukiya’s 1/8 Kirino Kousaka -Akihabara Ver-
I’ve talked to a lot of people who collect figures– and one thing seems to be pretty consistent. When listing the top figure companies, the one I’ve noticed gets mentioned the least is Kotobukiya. Despite this, they produce consistently great figures. They may not get the promotion or have the pizazz of some of the figures from other companies, but nevertheless, when I get something from Kotobukiya, I’m usually never disappointed. Even better than that is the fact that their prices are cheap and a great deal of their figures are available for purchase from US sellers!
Kirino is a figure I ended up importing, which means she was a little more pricey, but I don’t regret it at all. I’ve had ups and downs with Kirino figures, and, this is one of the first ones (besides Wave’s Beach Queen) that I’ve felt truly nailed her. Everything about her is great, from head to toe to each adorably painted fingernail!
As with all of my Koto shoots, I had a blast taking pictures of her. She’s a great figure.
In honor of the 10th anniversary oh there light novel, we're reblogging Kyrie's reviews of Kirino and Kyousuke Kousaka!
Pic 1: Anna and Elsa at the end of Frozen Pic 2: "Anna, should we show them 'true sisterly love'?" "Elsa-chan, in front of everyone?" Pic 3: "I think they're ready, be gentle" Pic 4: "I thought you said 'gentle' Anna" "Need for speed, whoo!"
A plasticpersona rez is coming! And to celebrate, I got something special, but Anna seems to have already found it!
Happy "Lucky 7" Birthday, Hatsune Miku!
After starting the day with a birthday cupcake (and a gift of books that she didn't find amusing [to which she used magic to change into something she wanted]) the day was spent with the little diva going on adventures to see the river and some railroad tracks!
Then, after surprising Miku with her very own yukata as a birthday gift, Meiko and Mami celebrated the end of her birthday with an evening drink! Uh, I hope Meiko doesn't give her too much to drink ^ ^;
Va-Va-Voom! Look at what song bird flew in to sing a pretty little song for all of you? That's right, this doll here is the DC Collectibles Bombshell, Black Canary. I would add more thing, but the pictures speak for themselves in regards to this gorgeous beauty. She cam out just a few weeks ago, and she certainly is as hot as the summer weather.

PersonaSpace's September/October Haul
I am admittedly very slow at taking pictures and stuff, but is there anything from this particular order that you want me to take pictures of? Some quick notes here.
Yes, I did buy 3 figma Yukikos. No, I really don't have a concrete reason for that.
Do all Japanese nanoblock sets come in cylinders?
The Angelic Island Haruka is really big compared to MegaHouse's Brilliant Stage Haruka. Last I checked both are supposed to be the same scale.
I know I don't post as much as Kyrie, Jer, and Chris, but thanks for visiting here none the less.
Never to Be A Bride… by ~OmniJerBear
Bandai's Chibi Arts Kotetsu T. Kaburagi of Tiger & Bunny!
I've had a little experience with the Chibi Arts line in the past, having also purchased the Blue Rose figure in January, but my feelings on the line were a little mixed-- overall, the figure was great. She's adorable and has a good deal of accessories and a good range of expressions to choose from, but I had some issue with her out of the box. Her base was broken and I had to fix it myself (without a screwdriver, making it incredibly hard) and her paint was just a little sloppy in comparison to Nendoroids, the success of which Bandi seems to be trying to rival with this line, but definitely still passable. Overall I was pleased with my purchase, though less pleased when I saw her go up for half-price on Amiami after initially being sold out. (She's still there, by the way, if you're interested!)
Kotetsu I was even more excited about, and when I got him yesterday I could hardly keep myself from tearing him open and checking him out. What I got was a good deal of disappointment. Kotetsu is rife with sloppy paint, mold issues, and worst of all, paint transfer. Not only that, but the hair piece of his that includes his hat connects so loosely that if you try to re-pose him, they come apart. They seem to be doing fine if you leave him on his stand for display, and I do usually take the head piece off of my Nendoroids whenever I'm re-posing them, but it's a pain to have his head come apart every time I decide to move him. The paint transfer issues are all over his face and around his eyes, luckily hidden by his hair. But it's still there, and still bothers me. The sloppy paint is easy to see in certain shots in the gallery. I know he's a small figure, and smaller details I'm more forgiving on-- but I'm still disappointed considering the paint on Blue Rose was fairly solid. He comes with even more accessories than Blue Rose, but even that doesn't really make up for his shortcomings.
While I am glad I bought him, because he's still adorable despite the issues, and I do recommend him for people who love Tiger & Bunny, this is definitely a Buyer Beware-- my issues are hidden and mostly forgivable, but it makes me wonder whether other people's copy may have suffered an even worse fate! Just be cautious.
You were asking for which figures to review? Mind if I ask a review on Nendoroid Yukiko, and Alter 1/8 Celty and Rita? Mostly to see another person's thoughts on Rita more than anything as I currently own her as well.
Kyrie: You heard 'em, Chris! Personally, I'd love to see some shots of Celty and Rita! I've got some of Yukiko coming soon, as well. ;)
(And personally, I'd love to see some Konohana Sakuya!)
Chris: These are things that will happen....I shall shoot!
Edit: Rita is currently being Shot!
LOOT DROP!
Let me know what you want to see reviews of. No one ever answers these and I need the inspiration.
Quick reviews though, Nendo Yukiko and Figma Samus are great, the scaled Samus is fantastic thanks to the little baby Metroid. Celty is Pretty and Iori has her precious Bunny. It would be a sin to display her without it. Rita is small but definitely the best of Alter's Vesperia figures thus far and Konohana Sakuya is KGJFHBASDGIBASDbFKJASDFKJHBAUSB.
Also the Legend of Korra piece from Natalie Nourigat and Grace Allison is FANTASTIC. This was a good package day
So! Recently I won a twitter contest held by SUTORAIKUanime.com, a $50 gift card from J-List! It’s been forever since I shopped there, and I honestly had a fun time loading up my cart with… whatever i could find that I thought would be fun to try/own. The shipping was a little steep, but not terrible! Here’s a breakdown of what I got:
Meiji 100% Juice Gummy Collection Meiji Mini Assortment Frito-Lay Takoyaki Puff Snack Glico Pudding Pretz w/Caramel Sauce Set of 3 Pocky Strawberry Parody Chopsticks Black Lacquer Shaft Ear Cleaner with Origami Happy Bird Puella Magi Madoka Magica DX Figure ~ Homura Akemi Final Fantasy XIII-2 Post Card Book
Obviously the winner in this bunch is Homura, but I’m also pretty happy with my ear cleaner! And the chopsticks have to be some of the cutest things I’ve ever owned. I can’t wait until I actually get a chance to use them! So far, I’ve tried the Pretz (delicious) and the gummies (good, but I’ve had them before!) and can’t wait to dig into more.
Honestly, while I can’t recommend J-List for most purchases of fandom-related objects, for stuff like chopsticks and random items like ear scoopies, they’re not so bad. Unfortunately the shipping is just killer, and the box was beat up beyond belief when it got here! Compared to the conditions on shipping I’ve had with other places, I’d definitely never order figures (outside of cheap prize figures, like Homura was) from them. You can get them cheaper and with better shipping conditions from places like Amiami.
Anyway, just thought I’d share my haul!
The Melancholy of Street Fighter X Tekken by ~OmniJerBear
Kurisu: “Looks like I win, I think I have this down to a…science.”
Haruhi: “What happened to my contract? You said my wish would come true, and I wished to be the best!”
Kyuubey: “I fulfilled your wish. You are the best.”
Haruhi: “Then why’d I lose?”
Kyuubey: “You picked Pac-Man and Kuro.”
It's July 17! So in celebration of Plastikitty's 1 year anniversary, we have gathered to pay tribute to Stephen and Leah's glorious butt shots with some butts of our own collections! Congratulations Stephen and Leah, I hope there are many more years of toys, cats, stuff, and butt shots to come.
Oh I forgot that I did this shoot, but this was for the review of the Nendoroid of Millhiore Firianno Biscotti of Dog Days, and she is quite the figma. As you probably are distracted by the Pinkie Pie, as well as the Pinkie Pie plushie (thank you again bluepaws21) I’m just going to kind of do this as a checklist review. Ready, and here we go!:
Pros:
-Great Accessories
- Wonderful Color Scheme
- Plenty of Display Possibilities created by the combination of various parts
Cons:
-Price is slightly more than a standard Nendoroid
-That bird isn’t reliable when other birds are around
-it’s Pink (?)
Okie Dokie Lokie, so that last one wasn’t really a con from me personally, but more as a con for “macho” collectors (are there even any out there? I hope not -.-‘) And that’s because of course we all know pink isn’t a color that the is the most masculine, but I say embrace it and it shall not consume you whole.
And there’s the review, I know it was short, but I hope you guys still enjoyed it, or at least the photos ^ ^
P.S. I didn’t really want to post the general story, because, well these two characters are so expressive that I’m sure their actions speak for themselves ^ ^
