also regina isn’t registered to vote because she has 0 interest in politics since it doesn’t affect her at all as a wealthy able-bodied white woman like as much as i personally hate it...... this may as well be canon

help nerdy is making me think in-depth about college regina and

she mellows out big time by then; by the end of the movie she’s channeling all her anger into sports so she doesn’t have the energy to tear other people down (as much, anyway). the jock girls aren’t afraid of her and she makes friends with her teammates; they hang out after practices and games, have a groupchat that consists of conversing in memes and emojis, and she’s genuinely comfortable being herself around them

she ends up getting a lacrosse scholarship and when she gets to university she’s still as calmed down, to a point; she’s not best friends with her roommate, but between practice, team study group, and parties, she’s hardly in the room anyway. she doesn’t have the greatest attendance record, but she gets by well enough; there are classes she does have an interest in (ironically enough, her humanities courses), and if the professor has a way of reaching her or grabbing her attention, she’ll show up for more than just exam days (especially if rate my professor confirms that they’re hot)

her rage is directed to two groups/places: the lacrosse field, and asshole protestors on campus (religious people with anti-abortion signs and the like). while she doesn’t really care for safe spaces or understand the concept of embracing diversity, those things existing don’t impact her so she doesn’t rally against that. she just can’t stand assholes being assholes, especially when “she doesn’t even go here!”---she’ll shout obscenities or shove gross people out of the way by shoulder checking them. she doesn’t care.

during her sophomore year, her parents separate and later divorce; she struggles with this because, while her relationship with her parents was never the best (her mom always tried being her friend instead of a mom and her dad’s a pushover at best), it still affects her to see something she thought wouldn’t change in her life fall apart. she sees a counselor on campus weekly; she always goes in a hoodie and sunglasses, fearful somebody will see her and lure it over her head. she doesn’t like knowing that people hold power over her; she’s never wanted to be seen as weak (which is why she became a ruthless person in the first place), so she takes every precaution she needs to.

regina has a way of wrapping people around her finger to the point where she can give them a compliment or friendly advice in a tone that tells them that she doesn’t like them, or that they annoy her, or that they're generally grating and taxing to deal with, while still coming off breezy and polite, if not slightly forced; we see this when she tells her mom to go fix her hair, with pretty much ANY interaction with gretchen---she’s that person who will go to you all “hey, can I talk to you?” and then immediately go “actually..... nevermind” just because she knows that will get under peoples skin and fester to the point where they go back and forth within themselves wondering what they did to fuck up or make her mad, even if she seems calm and relaxed.

mean girls 2 could’ve been good like the could’ve followed kylie george to high school and either had her be a proto-regina, queen bee type, or had her be the janis ian to a new generation of plastics, but no, they had to cast a bunch of ex-disney stars and almost ruin the legacy of mean girls
