She’s so happy he’s back. There’s periodic tears, little moments when she’s rushed with such emotion she can’t help but cry, but it’s nothing he wouldn’t be used to by now. They’ve been so close for, what? Hundreds of years now? If there was something he didn’t anticipate about her, that’d surprise her. Still, she hides in his giant hand when she does cry, wanting nothing more than to hide and rest in peace until the moment passes.

He’s always got such good hugs. She always missed his hugs. They were like full body hugs, like a weighted blanket that was accompanied by a deep tissue massage, thanks to his purring. She’s got her head on his chest, letting him rumble her into a state of fatigue, ears beginning to droop as she struggled to stay awake.

“I love you.” It’s all she can say for now, still lightly picking at and rubbing his fingers in between her own. “I love you so much.”

“I love you too, Deme. So much.” He let out a breath, arms tightening around her. He began to rock her gently, humming along with his purring, adding more vibration.

“Sleep now, Asala, everything is fine. I’ll be here.”

“Thanks.” She paused, then nodded, trying not to sound so curt, “thank you.”

All those little kisses were returned when she could, but those she couldn’t return were soaked up much like the warmth of his arms. No energy meant she couldn’t talk very well for now. So, she sits in silence, pulling in one of his hands to begin fiddling with his fingers, taking her time in telling him she loved him in her own small ways.

A kiss to each of his fingers. A gentle rest of her head in his palm, a big hug to his large arm, a contented sigh and a relaxed lean back into his chest. It’s all she can do until she can bring up the means to talk again.

And of course, he didn’t mind the silence-- he reveled in it in fact, adoring the every touch and kiss she gave. His smile curved his lips, making the muscles ache with his happiness. His second set of arms pulled her closer, pressing her against his chest, letting the vibrations of his purrs rumble into her.

He’d be content to sit here with her as long as she needed, talking be damned.

She’s quick to curl up on his chest, arms around his neck as best as she could. There’s no words just yet. She needs a moment to recover, head nodding and a soft “Mmmhmm,” following his question until she sat in silence long enough to handle speaking softly once more.

“I miss you.” Lots and lots and lots. And lots. “Stay with me for a while, okay?”

“Of course, babe. I’ll stay with you as long as you want. I missed you too, so much, darlin’.” He purred and nuzzled closer to her, giving her little kisses all over her face.
