random thought to have rn but does anyone else miss when the chocolate guy's editing wasn't designed to retain as much attention from tiktok users as possible. his old stuff focused on the actual movements of creating a pastry, they felt like impressive baking simply condensed into short form - and now his videos are cut and filmed in such a Staged way that i can Feel the camera on him at all times, i can feel the demands of the format to make things brighter, faster, unobstrusive, linger as little as possible on anything. like how some people edit voiceovers cutting out every breath, every um and uh, every sense that this is a person that exists in reality. there is simply no patience, for even a millisecond of time that you could have gotten bored and swiped away. bums me out man

i am still thinking about how. yeah man i read this book and i really liked one of the main characters and how she keeps herself guarded, keeping the thoughts that turmoil her a secret from the people she cares about so as to not concern them, quietly throws herself into the routine of physical labour as an elderly woman to distract herself from the grief that has been ever-present in the background of her life for decades, is so practical-minded and unwilling to show emotions that it is noteworthy when she Does, this old lady who in my mind is packed with years of dense muscle from labour under her thinning skin and. and netflix decided that she's actually a toddling old lady who is weak and nagging and prone to bursts of emotions and is pushy with boundaries and talks and talks and talks and is annoyed by her annoying friends because even as an old woman she is still ~not like other girls~ because the movie is structured like a fucking hallmark romance for some fucking reason. sally field you are NOTTTTT tova sullivan!!!!!!!
