Finally a place to put the dolls and all their junk. The 1/3rd apothecary and library is on the top, 1/4th room on the bottom with a loft for 1/6th, and I built shelves for the drawers holding clothes and accessories.
Just gotta figure out how to fit all the dolls in since the couch doesn't really fit tho. One day I would also like wallpaper.
I finally got my crap together and opened my etsy store! Its mostly butterflies and bottles from my 1/3 scale apothecary overstock right now, but Iâll be adding more as I sort out my materials and my own collection. So check it out and let me know if you have any questions!

Whoops forgot to post Day 2. Vahn
Inktober day 1. I couldnât find a decent pen so I started in pencil and just didnât erase to keep to the ârulesâ. Apparently I will be working through the wardrobes of my OCs. First is Micah.

Made more mini apothecary bottles! I am starting to have an excess, so I guess I should figure out how to sell them. So not the fun part.
In other custom news, Squirrel Girl Nendoroid! 2 Nendoroids and some Model Magic went into this one. I did take apart a couple stands for her tho. The tail is removable should I feel like making her more outfits. Right now she only has this one set of hands and legs, but I have more to carve and paint when I get the chance.
5 Figma later and I've got Yui from Sword Art Online completed! She is about shoulder height on other SAO Figma too so almost actual size! Now to pack her up and finally send her to her family. Asuna and Kirito are waiting!
The details of Aeroâs new and improved apothecary space! Its gone from one hutch to 2 hutches, a bookcase, and two letterpress drawers for shelves. The collection is nowhere near complete and I have hundreds more bottles in a box along with a huge box of expired spices and teas and dollar store potpouri and things I found to fill the bottles and shelves. And I have a mouse and vole skeleton cleaning in the back yard for this collection. So you know, the scale is 1/3.
The action figures on the top and on the bottom shelves are Jamieâs and kinda out of place, but I donât know where else to put them right now. The random trinkets and curiosities are all things I found or bought at thrift stores or was given. The domes have seahorses and a bumblebee. The jars on the shelves all have bones collected from owl pellets.
The bookcase is full of actual mini books. A lot of them still need new covers or whatever I end up doing with them. Its like 50% mini Bibles. The ones on top are blank books, but the rest are mostly real. Its pretty random and not all of them are English. I have been collecting them for several years, looking every time I go to a book shop or thrift store. I wonât spend outrageous amounts and I know the prices I am willing to pay, but sometimes I find a perfect book for the collection and so I have spent close to $20 for a single book before, but never more!
The pufferfish and turtle shell are real too. As are the two mummified frogs, bug wings, all the butterfly and moth wings in a box, a jar of cicada shells and mantis sheds, and there is a couple fish and a little lizard all dried out somewhere in the collection too. I like realness in this collection. The jars are all glass, half the potted plants are real, the paper wasp nest was frozen for a month to make sure I wasnât going to regret that. Iâm still working on the butterfly displays too. I have like 50 mini butterflies I need to finish spreading and mounting. Even those are real and they are mostly less than an inch wide. Even I wonder why I canât just fake some of this since its for freaking dolls!!
Finally got the doll area in a semblance of order. Aeroâs apothecary on top, with Jamie, Kyle, Aero, and Nine on the couch. Carmine and Oswin have a little bisto set for now, but I donât know what Iâm doing with them yet. LaRue and Anathema are sharing a room and Tango has a space while Nic just hangs out till I figure out what Iâm doing with him. I have another post coming with details of the apothecary.

On top is a greenhouse with my medicine bottles in a wooden box, a beetle from my aunt, 3 praying mantis in a frame, a really cool perfume bottle/trinket box, a framed butterfly, and a framed lizard.
Top shelf is my skulls. 2 raccoon, 2 muskrat, a snapping turtle, a replica bird skull, and some jaw bones. I still have a full raccoon, most of a skunk, a vole, and a mouse outside being cleaned to add here and to the mini apothecary.
The second shelf is still empty, but the third shelf has my Vampire killing stuff. A beat up old Bible, fancy blue bottles with wire covers in a box, a fancy blue glass bowl in metal frame, wooden needle holder, stakes, and vintage ink jar.
Bottom is my bottle collection. These are bigger bottles, not to be confused with my several hundred mini bottle collection.

Er, maybe I wonât take my Clawdiâs ears off. those holes are huge.
Theyâll be easy to fill with an air dry clay or apoxie sculpt. Maybe even the cheap Crayola stuff may work?
I rerooted a Clawdeen after hacking off the ears. I made a set of tails like I do for My Little Pony reroots and shoved them in after rooting the rest of the head and she actually looks pretty good. I imagine if I had used some thicker hair types it might have blended in even better. I donât have any photos right now, but I will one day have them done to show to the public.

It was doing that to me a couple weeks ago. I asked a couple friends and they hadnât seen any broken posts and I havenât seen any blank posts from you or anyone else I follow so its pretty safe to assume its just your dash showing it for some reason
Did it ever stop doing it? Or still does it randomly?
It hasnât done it in like a week or more. It just stopped. I noticed it kinda randomly and then when you posted this I realized it hadnât happened in a while. I currently donât have any tumblr extensions active and I use Firefox as my browser. I have no idea what caused it or made it stop, sorry.
My boyfriend got a deer this year, a pretty four-point buck, and I want to turn the head into a skull mount. My questions are, how can I keep the antlers the same tan color, and how long can I leave the skull in a maceration bucket ?
Iâve never cleaned a buck skull to be honest lol. I hardly ever work with skulls or bones as my main focus is generally furs and pelts. Though, my friend @taigas-den cleaned a spike skull for me once. She actually uses a heated maceration set up which cleaned the spike in about a week, but I have no idea how long it would take with a non-heated bucket.Â
I do know that the spikeâs antlers faded to a white-ish color after taiga cleaned him up and I took him to a taxidermist to get the antlers painted. If you want to keep the natural color you can maybe only fill the bucket up to the base of the antlers? Idk much about maceration haha, sorry!Â
I cleaned a snake in a non-heated bucket and it took about 3 months. Though I didnât have to worry about it at all like you do when messing with heat. As for the antlers, your best bet would to either do as @theknittinglynx said and only fill the water up to the base of the antlers or use beetles.

@taigas-den What do you use for your maceration bucket heat source?
I have been macerating a few things the last few months and let me tell you things I have learned. If its fresh, let nature do the work, but cage that thing and tie the cage to a tree cause nature is a bunch of jerks.
Also if you want heated maceration water a few choices are out there. For a large skull like the deer there is actually a Buck Boiler, but this assumes you will be doing more than one skull. Hunting stores do have a lot of mounting kits though for deer skulls that include things to help clean the bones. You can also make your own heated one by adding a fish tank heater into a PVC pipe inside a bucket with a lid, just make sure you keep the heater away from the skull and nasty soup water or you will be scraping gross from that heater. For smaller skulls Jake used a baby bottle sterilizer and his momâs slow cooker. That site has all kinds of advice for every stage of preparing bones too.
I have a couple mummified things that needed lots of soaking and I donât have an outlet outside and my sisters wonât let me bring dead stuff inside until its clean and no longer has any smell. I have a series of containers and I just keep replacing the water at least once a week with boiled water and dish soap. Dish soap helps breaking down the fats and grease on the bones. If I was more motivated it would probably been done sooner, but I havenât been keeping up with the cleaning between water changes and have only been doing it once a week cause Iâm a lazy bum. Also make sure you get everything flushed out of the skull too or you will have some nasty smells out of nowhere one day. Air dry in the sun for a couple days and when soaking in bleaches or peroxides keep the antlers out of the solutions or the tan colour will not stay on the antlers.
I may have gotten a bit too excited about a box of damaged skulls marked 'make me an offer'. I debated making an offer on the entire box, but decided I'd better show at least a little restraint. The bird skull is a resin cast from a different shop, but I really liked it. Now if only I knew where I was going to put them...

11. Grail doll? Almost any of Enaibi's dolls. Airelle, Satyne, the Briseis bunny or wasp are my favorites. I would about kill for one of her dolls. Those are probably the only dolls I would willingly pay over $1000 for. And I know I'll never get one.
16. Silliest thing you have done with your dolls?
Oh lord. I have no idea. I guess I used to take stupid photo stories cause it was the thing to do and everyone else did? I did once put my MSD in a coffin carry case to take her to work and show a couple coworkers and when I was checked out I was asked what was in the coffin and we said a body and they weren't even gonna make me open it cause they didn't want to know.
18. Do you prefer a certain aesthetic over others?
I would have to say yes. I'm not into the really realistic ones. Even Migidoll kinda borders on too real for me some times. I like a cartoony style best. I'm also a fan of big eyes. I have yet to find a dreaming/sleeping head with the partially opened eyes that I really like. And I don't like super defined muscles. Dunno why, but even well defined abs kinda turn me off.

And honestly I have used a mason jar (which I have never in my life drank from) and it didn't stop me from absently reaching for it when thirsty. If there is a container with liquid in it, it don't matter what its in, the painter will accidentally try to drink it.
