In case anyone's confused, it's about that moment after quali in Abu Dhabi that went viral on a few platforms: link. Personally, I think it was just a funny coincidence. The guy George was talking to was Jo Bauer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jo_Bauer), the technical delegate responsible for scrutineering, his name often appears in FIA documents. I doubt he has the live broadcast displayed on his monitor, firstly because that would probably too distracting, and secondly because it is shown on the screens in front of the grandstands anyway:

As for why George went up to him, I have no clue - maybe he just wanted to double-check something after being weighed. And the director probably showed him hoping it would turn into some drama.
