@eatinsleepin Starship announced that "In July 2020, SHOWNU was diagnosed with “Left Retinal Detachment (Amotio Retinae)” and had to undergo emergency surgery following the official diagnosis from the specialist. The surgery was successful, and ever since then, SHOWNU has been getting his eyes checked regularly to prevent a recurrence as the medical condition is not easy to cure completely.
Recently, SHOWNU felt discomfort in the eye due to excessive exposure to strong lighting while preparing for MONSTA X’s upcoming album. He immediately visited the hospital for an examination and received appropriate medical treatment. The result showed that the discomfort was caused by sub-retinal fluid and proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) as a complication of the retinal detachment, and SHOWNU was advised to take time off for a considerable amount of rest to avoid a relapse and further deterioration."
So he wasn't able to participate in this comeback and he'll be taking a break for a couple months. This was the picture he posted when the news broke. :')

Learn what your basic forms are. Don't know? Happy to help!
1040 - what you send to the government
W2 - what your work gives you
W4 - what you give your work (this is important, we will talk about it in a minute)
1099 - this will probably have another letter after it. Keep it. Give it to your tax person. It shows you had income.
Now about that W4. Unless you KNOW that you should do otherwise, don't claim anything. This is obviously not blanket advice. It comes with a how-to to fill it out. But don't think "I should claim myself, right?" or "but then I get paid less/more, right?" Just don't. Read the paper, know your situation or do nothing.
Part two of that: READ, PEOPLE. You CAN do your own taxes. You can figure out when your refund will arrive. You can figure out why you owe this year. It is all there. Everything is just reading and some math. Anyone with more than a few W2s and maybe a 1099G or SSA, probably give it to someone else to prepare, but you can still look over their work and see what the basics of what happened.
And for gods sake, your local tax prep office isn't the IRS or Dept of the Treasury. Don't show the whole world you are an idiot and lose it over the fucking stimulus at an underpaid receptionist working for a private company. I've got no patience for that, I will tell them to get your name and hang up on your ass and you go on the do not serve list.
