In my personal opinion, after Lazark was gone, Rael seemed to grow more attached to Karias (judging from how they often appear together in many scenes) I don’t remember the story very clearly anymore, but I can’t help thinking that deep down, Rael probably wishes that the back he sees now belonged to Lazark someone he could follow without question… someone he could fight alongside as an equal

Maybe Rael never really wanted to be the head of the Kertia clan at all — maybe he just wanted, for once, to stand by his brother’s side. Because in a way, Rael was no longer completely overshadowed by Lazark

Rael doesn’t see Karias as a substitute for his brother, but he probably can’t help wondering if things between him and Lazark hadn’t grown so distant, maybe it could have been that way.

🤔…I remember in one of Rael’s flashback scenes, there was a line where he said he’d take his time thinking about eternal sleep since it was still far away, and then he asked Lazark what he wanted to do
