fcklyrik:
Even at night the ocean breathed, reflecting the lights off the pier with every wave that rose and fall in rhythmic ease. Just watching it he felt as though the waves became his pulse as the wind kissed his cheeks with her saline lips wafting in the familiar smell of salt water. It felt so real. But it wasn’t, it was to perfect to be real, but in that moment he was content enough to pretend.
“You know, this is the only place in Revera that you can get snow cones.” Lyrik mused, his gaze shifting from the water back to the carnival stalls, the tinkling of music carried on the breeze. “I mean I know there are like, five star restaurants, but I’d sell my soul for a good snow cone.”
There were a lot of things that Plouton liked about the virtual world of Revera, but one of his favorites had to be the peace that the pier and the ocean brought him. He wasn’t a fan of real beaches, not typically. Too many bustling people and families with young kids that easily aggravated him. But the Revera pier was special in its sereneness.
“Is it?” Plouton asks the other, “I don’t think I’ve ever really had a snow cone, in real life or here,” He says, trying to ruffle through his vague memories of his youth. “Maybe I should try one soon, do you have any suggestions for flavors?” He asks, not wanting to get a bad one, “Heaven forbid I get a gross one.”

Mercy squints up at the boy when he speaks before crossing his arms over his chest defensively. “I could be 84 for all you know. An 84-year-old game designer with years and years of expertise…Or a 23-year-old with a dad who still owns some old systems. Take your guess.” He smirks at that before shrugging as he disregards the pass, slipping it back into his inventory as he listens to him continue. “You…You really don’t have to do that. It’d be a lot more trouble than you think. I haven’t been on one of these since I was about six, and I’m pretty sure I caused the person next to me some level of hearing damage.” He let out a weak chuckle and shook his head, glancing back up towards where the ride was just now ascending its initial drop, forcing himself to avert his gaze before it could actually plummet.
A chuckle found its way out of Plouton at the other crossing his arms, and he wanted to agitate a little bit more, but decided against it. “84 huh? You don’t really give me the same vibes as my grandfather and his friends do,” He covers his mouth when he laughs at imagining this kid frightened of a roller coaster is actually 70 something years old. “I have an inkling it’s the latter.” Plouton motions his head for the other to follow him, but doesn’t move until he gets confirmation that the other is going to. “Trust me, it’s no big deal, I have plenty of time tonight to coax you into a relaxed enough state for a roller coaster. And it’s not like I can get any actual damage from you in here right?” Plouton says, and now he’s fixated on riding this roller coaster with the other.
“I’ll get you a bite to eat after?” He suggests, holding out his hand to solidify the trade.

it was obvious she was living in a world of pure personal bliss right now, the signs where clear: skipping around and dancing to get anywhere she wanted, spending hours just walking around. aleah isn’t sure if she’d ever get used to this feeling again, knowing how it wasn’t real. jackson warned her not to get too attached, that it would make living life too hard and she knew that but she missed walking.
wandering up to a random person, she smiled. “great night, right?” she’s almost like a child, bouncing on her toes in excitement. while life it’s pitiful for her in the real world, she can see herself enjoying this one much more.
plouton’s head turned to the noise of another person’s voice, and then tilted his head slightly down as he was only met with the sight of the top of other’s head. her immense joy practically radiated off of her in waves and it actually brightened his mood slightly. which is a... difficult thing to do, to say the least. especially when he had a particularly rough day at work like he had.
he gave the other a gentle smile, something about her telling him not to be rude. “it is, it always is if you let it be,” he told her, and held his hand out to her, “are you new to the game?”

Mercy had his elbows resting on his knees and his head in his hands as he sat at a small bench just outside of one of the only roller coasters at Revera Pier. Ever since he started playing five years ago, he never dared venture onto any of the roller coasters. He’d once been a bit adventurous and tried out the ferris wheel; which really wasn’t so bad ( considering he didn’t dare look up from the floor of the cabin ). But this was different. It was everything he’d feared about the advancement of VR since its earliest days with those roller coaster simulators on Youtube. “Fuck.” He ran his hands through his blue hair, glancing back up to the world for the first time. “I think we’ve advanced a bit too far. I think if I’m actually able to feel a very real urge to vomit on one of those insane metal death traps, it’s time to go back to 360 p and basic consoles. RollerCoaster Tycoon would’ve never done me like this.” He gave a faint chuckle and attempted to stand again, wobbling only slightly before reaching into his inventory, pulling out the ride pass that expired in 24 hours before glancing back to someone close-by, unsure of how long they’d really been there. “Do you want this? Free of charge. I sure as hell won’t need it. Not even the teacups sound fun at this point.”
One of Plouton’s favorite things to do in the false reality of Revera was to take part in some of the more thrilling activities available. Due to the paranoia associated with high heights and loose bolts he never really wanted to to test how strong his nerves are. The fact that nothing in this world that was going to kill him made him take that first leap to try out a roller coaster years ago. He kind of fell in love with the way it made his heartbeat speed up, only to safe levels of course. Plouton has yet to try a roller coaster in the real world, and frankly it is unlikely that he ever will.
He was preparing his pass to the coaster when he saw the person with their head hanging low. Typically he left people to their own business, but this person started to talk to him. He minds his own business, but he isn’t so rude that he walks away when spoken to. “I’d say you don’t exactly look old enough to remember basic consoles, but I guess in this world we can’t exactly judge age on appearance,” He says and shoves a hand inside of his pocket, getting more relaxed in his stationary position. Plouton waved off the pass, “No thanks, I got my own pass.” He flashes his own to prove that, “I’ve been there before, it’s really not as bad as you think it’s going to be,” He promises, and shrugs, “I’ll go on with you if you’d like?”
