I'm getting so tired of people who talk in terms of absolutes! I really do think it's targeted misinformation, we have to consider this. Part of the issue is that they're targeting real tensions. As a trans woman, I have experienced bigotry at the hands of trans men and also non-binaries. You can read about those experiences in my blog, is one of my first posts, very raw. But I'm also seeing some outrageously bigoted and, I hate to say it and trust me even more to see it, extremist rhetoric coming out of the "transfeminine" world. I put that in quotes because i can't tell if it's real trans women. Saying for example that talking about transandrophobia is automatically transmisogyny? that's...i mean imagine if they said the reverse. that talking about transmisogyny is transandrophobia. that would sound so INCREDIBLY hurtful... It sounds so...absolute, and creepy. It truly sounds like it was written by someone's who's sole intent is to incite infighting... It could be real people, I know I've met people with really creepy and extremist opinions on both sides of the aisle... In short it can be both/and, not either/or. Yes, trans men have discriminated against me, and they also experience discrimination in their own lives that makes them bitter. The main issue is lack of proper communication between both sides and for some strange and entirely alien reason to me, becoming obsessed with the lingo and little zingers and one liners, flattening everything into impossible to decipher terminology. It's sort of like, sloganism. I'm really irritated by sloganist online writers... Also it's just so depressing and irritating how people get exposed to misinformation, then they internalize those views and latch onto them as if they're their own opinion. Like for example a lot of the stuff we see about ai data centers could be misinformation...but everyone is attached to that opinion now. Horrible example because folks are REALLY attached to that opinion, but it's so ridiculous all you have to do is incite a crowd and this sensation of everyone banding together to fight nameless evil and then it becomes taboo to talk about something, fuck this realm... I also partly lost my job because of AI (in addition to being discriminated against by my former boss) so I have plenty of reason to despise it...

awesome that people are stalking my blog to call me an "expat" because i want to escape the country where JK Rowling has made it so that i'm not allowed to use the bathroom, i'm categorically legally not considered a woman, i'm not allowed to use female services at hospitals (or, actually, basically anywhere) and where every day more and more of my rights are being eroded.

"queer rights" in the UK might be scary -- "trans women's rights" are another thing entirely. @iloveleeks2 you are a transmisogynist, you are anti-immigrant, you know nothing about trans rights in the UK and you should shut the fuck up on the subject for the foreseeable forever.

This is literally what people are talking about when they say AI will be used to mainstream widely held bigotry. LLMs are trained on frequency and probability -> straight relationships are more well represented in the dataset -> straight pronouns and terms become the "correct" normal.

This is a form of backdoor bigotry from both normative facts (there are more straight than gay relationships) and well represented bigoted beliefs (men are superior to women).

Combine this with the mass of people inclined to believe (and being encouraged to believe) that if AI says and does something it must be correct
