Much, much later Dingo's now at Plum's knocking on the door. He's shown up rather unannounced, but he made a promise and he's going to keep it, announced or not. [dengoes]

When the door opens, Plum peers out at the other man, brows furrowed. It’s a surprise, seeing the younger man standing at his porch. Wordlessly, he’d open the door, inviting Dingo inside, since he assumes he’s here for a reason.

This house is not a Home.

Citrus peers through the door of his kitchen, brows creased slightly as he observes the older male, who moves about like a ball of energy, stirring something in a bowl while a carton of eggs sits off to one side. There’s also a large stack of freshly sliced bread.

Might be French Toast on the menu.

“Hey, Plum? I need to talk to you about something.”

“Can it wait till breakfast? I’m cooking at the moment!”

“Yeah, it can wait.”  “Oh, good! If you want to sit at the table, or in front of the TV, I’ll bring it out, and we can talk while we eat.”  Citrus gives a short noise of agreement, and then goes to sit on his usual green beanbag, legs stretched out before him as he rests his hands behind his head. The Tv is playing Napstaton’s music hour, as usual, with several familiar, relaxing beats filling the room.

In time, Plum brings them both a heavy plate of French toast, with hash-browns and sausages on the side. Taking his own, the taller skeleton tucks into it with enthusiasm, drizzling honey atop everything. They eat in silence for a little while; until the older of the two brothers brings it up again.

“So! You wanted to talk about something?”

* Maybe it's just a Papyrus thing? They're silly, honestly. I wish I knew how to get them to talk to me. I'll keep trying! If I ever figure it out, I'll let you know.

I don’t know if its a papyrus thing, necessarily? But It’s certainly a thing with them. And I feel exasperated, watching them do this to themselves.

* Oh... Yeah I know how that is. When Cake gets like that, I make him stuff like hot chocolate. He won't talk to me but I can at least help him take his mind off things! I dunno if this helps you. Hm.. Poor Citrus.

Your brother doesn’t talk either, huh. I wonder what it is about them, that makes it so they don’t want to share with us. Maybe they just…don’t like feeling vulnerable, opening up old wounds, so they can let them heal properly.

* Oh dear. Is he alright?

I do not think so. 

….It is..hard, Muffin. To be his big brother. To know he’s hurting, and be unable to help. I can’t help him, if he won’t let me…and…I don’t know what to do…

I keep hearing strange noises from Citrus’s room...

...I hope he’s not dealing with nightmares again.

i’m always concerned where citrus is concerned. but today is.

i think he’s? okay? even if he’s crying a little.

But why is the house warmer if it's still the same outside? What does spring have to do with anything??

I don’t know, okay? Leave me alone, I’m busy doing very important things.

Don't you live in a snowy area?

I said its warm in the house. Its still cold outside.

you're kinda flushed there, plum. if you're sick, you should take your own advice. :/

I’m fine. It’s just really warm in the house, because spring is here.

Just a message to people at large: If you’re sick, rest. Eat a good meal, and make sure to wash up properly. Don’t forget to hydrate, either! 

Self-care is important, and if you don’t look after yourself I’m going to come to your house and shove chicken soup in your face, then read you a story.

You should probably wake him up. He shouldn’t be sleeping this long! Its not healthy

But he never seems like he gets a good sleep! So he can rest all he likes.
