Why isn't [x] here? could be any of several reasons! we ruled out submissions that were purely headcanons, and since this is specifically meant for canon systems we tried to avoid cases where the character in question clearly isn't meant to be a system or plural in any way but is relatable to systems. this is admittedly sometimes subjective, but that's what we decided on. they may also just not have been submitted. to determine if a system is canon, we looked at whether they canonically have DID (or OSDD, or etc.), and if not whether they're treated as separate characters by the narrative and/or largely by the fanbase!

Why canon systems only? there are already several system brackets that allow headcanons, so we wanted to focus on canon systems. this tournament is largely meant both to have fun and allow people to share and find canon systems in media.

[x] is problematic! there is no perfect representation of plurality in any reasonable media, so unfortunately some of the contestants are inevitably unrealistic or fall into the evil alter stereotype to some degree. however, all the characters listed here should at least be meant to be likable to the audience and be fleshed out as proper characters and not consist purely of stereotypes. we also tried to avoid any particularly bad or controversial ones.

Why this seeding? our idea was to allow some of the more obscure characters a bit more of a chance to shine, while also avoiding pitting finalists against each other in the first round. once the first round starts properly there's not really much we can do about that, but we're always fine with receiving feedback!

📣But seriously (Heidi here) we just wanted to say that, while we're the local Uendo superfan, what matters is we all got to see a bunch of systems in one place!

For some, or many people! This is their first time seeing a bunch of these systems. And that's really special! We hope everyone found at least one system they'd never seen before through these polls!

At this point, all we care about is letting the plural community know how absurdly system coded much of Ace Attorney is, aha! Whoof! There's so much! For all those people who get into AA because of this poll, we hope you have a good time! ^v^ (AND GET A WALKTHROUGH READY)

VOTE FOR THE CHARACTER THAT IS SO ABSURDLY, LUDICROUSLY, UNBELIEVABLY PLURAL IT MAKES AN ENTIRE FRANCHISE PLURAL

In Spirit of Justice, the game is themed and built around the spirit channeling technique of Maya Fey, the assistant protag from game 1!

A couple cases don't involve spirit channeling, but instead parallel it. The first is two twins pretending to be one person, the second is Uendo. AND UENDO HAS STRAIGHT UP DID!

But Maya Fey was used as the "blueprint" for every assistant character in the series from then on, and the games even acknowledge it as such!

WHICH MEANS!

UENDO TONEIDO IS SO PLURAL THEY RETROACTIVELY CONFIRM THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE IS FILLED WITH PLURALITY

So many characters after Maya have some element of multiple personas, sharing bodies with spirits, or severe drastic personality shifts with amnesia!

THAT is why Uendo Toneido is one of the best systems ever made! It's a note, from the developers themselves basically, that yes! Yes systems aren't just welcome, they've basically always been here!

Years of inadvertently normalizing plurality is why Uendo exists! And they're the wonderful candle on top of the plurality cake that is AA!

A vote for Uendo is a vote for Maya Fey! Mia Fey! Espella Cantabella! Athena Cykes! Kay Faraday! Even Trucy Wright!

We also haven't played DGS but we heard someone's pretty plural there too, so you know. It's very consistent.

VOTE FOR THE SYSTEM THAT (cracks plural eggs) UNTANGLES SYSTEMS LIKE NOBODIES BUSINESS NOW NOW NOWWW!!!

We want to emphasize one of the biggest elements to the success of the Storyteller system's success: Normality

Uendo Toneido is a normal person, all their alters are normal, and treated as such in game.

The game barely treats the Storyteller's DID as this big twist. They moreso go "Oop! They have DID? Can the alters state their names so the court can refer to each accordingly?"

It's so normal in fact, we have seen SO MANY PEOPLE realize they're plural because of this system.

We almost realized ourselves! The Storyteller system turns a condition that's often sensationalized and demonized into this thing that's OKAY to be, that's NORMAL for anyone to happen to have.

Even if they're not the primary reason for the system untangling, we have talked to people who've found being plural feels more okay after them!

It's a kind of thing another Ace Attorney character, Espella Cantabella, really could have used during her game.

Huh, weird that a main character of a whole AA title just blatantly says this out loud!

It's almost like there's an undercurrent of plurality to the entire franchise that started out as more incidental but eventually morphed into genuine positivity through an out and direct system or something.

Hmm, fancy that!

ADHD Vs Autism duo bracket!

Inspired by the iconic meme format, as well as Tumblr polls such as @autismswagsummit @adhdswagcompetition @purpleandyellowshowdown @aroaceswagcompetition @2023himbotournament @pinknredbracket @plural-bracket @besttship @egg-poll @littleguyshowdown and the MANY other epic tournaments I've been following over the past couple months.

Submit your duos here.

Rules:

Do not submit real people/actors/YouTubers/ect.

You can submit multiple duos, but no not submit the same duo multiple times.

Please use the form to submit one duo at a time (for the sake of organisation and my sanity). Duos submitted via the ask box will not be counted.

Duos can be anything (platonic, familial, romantic, enemies, just two people who feel very neutral about one another) but the two characters need to be from the same piece of media and preferably have interacted.

A character does not need to have ADHD/autism in 'canon' to submit them. That kind of rep is pretty sparse so this competition will mostly be based on fandom interpretation.

One duo per piece of media will be allowed into the competition (tentative rule for media with multiple iterations, in cases such as a duo from ROTTMNT and a duo from TMNT03).

Duos do not need to strictly have only ADHD or only autism. You could submit a AuDHD Vs Autism duo. Literally any duo that carries the energy of this image. It's a competition based on a funny meme format that will not be adhered to with 100% strictness.
