Isn't it interesting that they both ended their stories in flames?
Alright so! Saw the collage au idea and RAN to draw this
been thinking about how scott and owen are both scary in different ways and i just. i love that these two were our starting vampires.
because owen is dark. brooding. he's a lumberjack and keeps himself on a darker mood most times. you're supposed to feel scared of him. He monologues and spins threats in ways that make your heart pump, and make you feel unsafe in your own skin. but it also does it in a way that feels like he's trying to scare you. he knows HOW to be scary and he's specifically waiting for the perfect moment when you're more vulnerable, and he's acting in a specific way and saying specific words to make you feel as scared as possible. he's so scary to everyone who confronted it that by the end of ep 3, it seemed that most of the villagers think it all stems from owen, at least in what i understood
but scott? by all purposes scott is NOT scary.
he's polite, cheery and incredibly chill. he jokes around and makes silly jokes and pokes fun at you in ways that are not mean, but instead feel just funny. he feels relaxed and fluid in a way that makes you let your guard down, and it doesnt help that he's charismatic as all hell, knowing how to spin words and talk to you in ways that make you start doubting your own frame of thinking. and he doesnt get angry, not matter what. and that's why it's so fucking horrifying when your alarm bells start ringing: because there was nothing as prelude to prepare your instincts to be scared. that's why his combo with apo in the castle is so chilling: he is, objectively, terrifying, and yet he acts casual in the way that only someone who is not only familiar with such horrific implications and effects, but that THRIVES in them, would be
these two are such terrifying forces to have as your enemies and i, for one, am delighted
More adventures with the crew and the Expanse's biggest mess going on two legs.
