"Imagine how funny it would be
if one day I'll suddenly realize
as I look at you
that you changed me forever."
(Translated from 'Bruciare per te' by Elisa)
Today marks the 8th anniversary since I watched Cars 3 for the first time in my local cinema. Eight years since I fell utterly and completely in love with this franchise and with many of its beautiful characters.
Hadn't it been for my mother, who convinced me to give the movie a try when its first trailer (the one about Lightning's crash) had originally made me want to not watch it at all, I would have missed out on what to this day I still consider to be not a love story in the traditional sense, but the warmest story ever told about love in all of its forms.
And during those first few days of enamourment of that September of so many years ago, I suddenly remembered that, although unknowingly, my bond with the Cars movies actually started way way earlier on in my life, with a barely eight-years-old version of myself who spent so many afternoons of 2006 playing with her set of plastic Piston Cup racers Kinder toys.
I'm pretty sure little Angie already saw something special in that first movie, even if she didn't know it yet.
In case you want to hear me yap more about this topic, I made a youtube video where I share some stories related to the various items of my collection.
