Warning: crackfic... I warn you, it's unexpected. All I can say is, forgive the poor rhyming and metre, I don't normally write this kind of stuff.

SKIFF, Y/N, CAPTAIN JOE, THOMAS
[The lighthouse. Beside it, two sets of rails, one high upon the cliff, the other at its foot.]
[Enter SKIFF on the lower rails, anxious.]
SKIFF:
However hard this task may prove to be,
For Skiff, impossible it's not, he says!
When Skiff has put his mind to fix one thing
There's nothing that can slow Skiff in his way.
[SKIFF hears a distant whistle.]
Oh, quiet now... Skiff thinks he heard a sound.
He knows! The one who made that sound is found.
A little puff, a clatter then a clang,
It must be Thomas, jolly little tank!
[THOMAS enters with Y/N.]
That's Thomas there, and Skiff was right to guess,
Alone he came to shore, not with his friends.
Now he departs... and who is left behind?
What soul stands there above the cliff's high side?
[THOMAS departs. Y/N leans over the railing above.]
Oh goodness, Skiff's own mouth has told a lie!
Is that...? Oh gracious... Skiff is struck quite high.
That's Skiff's own light, the precious human, done!
If legs he had, quickly Skiff would run!
See how those eager feet come to the edge,
That hand now waves to Skiff, his love he'd pledge!
Skiff's hull compels him now to come at once.
The rails beneath the railing, nothing stunts
Him from his pursuit! She should count to one
And glance below at him; he'll see it done.
[SKIFF comes beneath the cliff. Y/N looks at him below.]
Y/N:
Heavens, Skiff! I thought good Joe had kept you back
To tend the lighthouse and to work the lamp,
How glad my heart, how joyful now to find
You waiting here, where I had hoped you'd had!
Come, let me climb and join you by your side,
Don't fret and hide, let love be our pride
And we can sail away, just you and I,
Into that darkened sea which ahead lie!
Where Captain Joe can part us not again,
Where you and I can in our pure love dwell.
[CAPTAIN JOE comes out of the lighthouse. He sees Y/N. SKIFF hides.]
CAPTAIN JOE:
Oh! What a delightful presence has just
bestowed my eye! But come inside; don't hide!
I called for you to give your thoughts upon
The festive lights we've hung throughout Skiff's home
For celebration! Yet you seem withdrawn.
Your eyes keep wandering downward the cliff.
Is there a sight below which caught your eye?
Least your attention must I therefore buy!
[Y/N looks toward where SKIFF stood, but he is gone.]
Y/N:
Oh no! Good Joe, there's nothing but the waves.
I found them pleasant with their pesky little raves!
I watched them pass the time while pausing here
Until you showed and shook me up, I fear!
[CAPTAIN JOE looks over the railing, then nods.]
CAPTAIN JOE:
I see! Then take one final look, and come.
Unless you jump, though I'd suggest no swum
Your work awaits, so linger here no more.
For boats could show, and feisty hearts some bore;
One just might steal you from the shore with ease,
And save you not, for it so swiftly flees!
[CAPTAIN JOE goes into the lighthouse. SKIFF cautiously returns.]
SKIFF:
Oh, you must leave, and so must Skiff today,
The Captain soon may turn, and look this way!
Should he but see Skiff's post left all alone,
Poor Skiff, his love, the cover's fully blown!
But we shall meet again, of that be sure;
For Skiff knows well this love can more endure!
And Skiff will steal you from this lonely place,
And with you drift where they won't swiftly trace.
Y/N:
Then by your promise I should make a vow,
To wait my patient heart from this day now.
Though now I leave, and grief my soul has torn,
I'll wait for you till hope is once reborn.
Farewell now! Be safe, my darling railboat!
And may your timber never stop its float!
[Y/N follows CAPTAIN JOE into the lighthouse.]
SKIFF:
Skiff's Captain... oh, dear Captain, could not see
The love that Skiff bears faithfully it be,
A human and a boat, so strange, it's true;
Yet Skiff knows love can still be born anew.
What matter wood, or flesh, that's part of us,
Why should so many make our love a fuss?
Timber, flesh, these are but just a mere shell
Within them where this sentiment would dwell!
If only we could shed our shells like some
Skiff knows we'd love again beyond our form!
Farewell, sweet human. May we meet once more,
And love should guide your footsteps to this shore.
Now Skiff will dream, though fear grows in Skiff's heart
But Skiff must leave, for he has done his part.
Guess who wrote this yesterday + today while waiting for my MA interview [yesterday] and the results [today]? me. Still no results posted, apparently they come tomorrow ~.~

"Sweetheart... I know you are here. Come out of hiding. It's time to go home."
You heard Henry's voice far too close, breath hitched in your throat as you lowered yourself behind one of the trees, trying to make yourself as meek as possible so he wouldn't find you. There was the fact that you might've run away despite his pleas. The only rule was that you wouldn't try such a thing. And now here you were, squeezed against the tree, trying to hold your breath and hope Henry wouldn't find you.
"Sweetheart, it's late. You know it's dangerous being out here by yourself. We must go back to my house."
You quieted down.
Your ears perked, and you listened.
"Sweetheart, come out, come out. Wherever you are..."
The chiming nearly made it sound as if there would be no consequences to you running away. Maybe there wouldn't be. But how would you be sure Henry won't hurt you? Surely, he had always been nice, but you had never dared to anger him.
"Sweetheart."
A few leaves crumpled under Henry's feet. The man paced around trying to find you. A game of hide-and-seek that made your heart beat at the pace of a bunny that was facing a fox. The sound of leaves stopped, and so did the steps, an eerie quietness dropping over you to the point you could only hear your own heartbeat in your ears.
Did he leave? He did. There was complete stillness, quietness. But, no.
No, you would've heard his steps grow quieter until they disappeared, but you didn't. They ceased as if he had never been there.
"There you are, sweetheart. I found you. It's time you and I go back home. And never dare to pull a stunt like that again. Mhm, good girl, sweetheart."
