Hello! we are PnP, stands for Pas and Pan!

We started this blog after going on an incredibly deep rabbithole on a wordpress blogger called Jessica McLaren (shoutout wcacka!!!) and thought she was the funniest person in the world and a role model.

Me and pan met back in 2021 on Twitter and hit it off a little after, we got closer around 2024 and now here we are!!!!

We're currently in our first year of uni!!! We constantly update about our daily lives

UNI UPDATE V2 WEEK #1

HAIIIII!! Did you miss me???

Week one is over! (has been for a while lol)

And even though not all my classes started, I managed to finally write down a comprehensive schedule of my days. And.

IT IS SOOOOOO AWFUL I'M SCARED!!!! I know this will be so bad...

Mondays and Fridays, I wake up at 6 am (hate every second of it) for the same class.

GUESS. WHO GOT TO UNI. AT 7:40. FOR THEIR 8:30 AM CLASS.

ME.

GUESS. WHO DID NOT EVEN GET TO UNI.

MY TEACHER!!!

SO MAD!!!! He didn't even send a message warning us!! So my friend and I were so pissed!!

Later, he apologized, saying he thought we had class on wednesday. bro, we have class monday and friday there is NO wednesday!!!

But whatever! I had class with him on Friday, and it was fun. He is a good teacher, so I guesssss, it's okay. He is chronically late, always, I've been warned.

On Tuesday, I had another awful thing happen to me. I scheduled a doctor's appointment. I ran as fast as I could to get there in time.. EXCEPT THAT I RAN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION!

FFFF!!!!!!! MY LIFE!!!!!!

I have not rescheduled. Oh well. I am feeling better, though! So maybe it's not needed anymore!

UNI UPDATE V2 WEEK #1

HELLO!!!!!!!

The new semester has started, and with it come the weekly updates!

My vacations finished a little after Pan's did, so I got to enjoy a beautiful monday of sleeping in while knowing that out there, in the cold grueling morning, was Pan fighting demons in the bus on the way to uni.

My first day was in wednesday, my first class chemistry and the room was SO cold I wanted to die. Right after that I had physics, which also made me want to die because the class was extremely boring....

The day after I had calculus, now I need you guys to understand, I AM NOT GOOD AT MATH. I did decent in school but I really struggled... it made me wonder how I passed precalc last semester..

On sunday my dad brought a cake, and after I ate it I felt like a toddler who just got their hands on processed sugar for the first time in their life. It was SWEET. TWO brownies, frozen fudge that melts when you microwave it and m&ms on top.

It was really good..........

Those were the highlights of my week! I hope to be able to do more posts this semester, even if they aren't very interesting. I hope you guys had a good week too, see you soon!

For pan, I'm so obsessed (and you can tell by the amount of mentions in our tiny blog and the fact that I already have tags I use in these occasions KSJDJSK) with all the adaptations of Mo Dao Zu Shi! Included fics, hehe. And Mitski!

For Pas, probably my OC's, Kieta Hatsukoi, Hirano to Kagiura and Car Seat Headrest (the band). Even if I am very obsessed with them I wouldn't call myself much of a ranter I don't think.

HAPPY YAOI DAY!!11!!!!1!

Hello and happy yaoi day from PNP to all who celebrate!!

While thinking about how to celebrate this day in a way that would honor our master, Jessica McLaren, Pan suggested doing a review on one of our favorite BLs.

For my favorite BL, I will be talking about Uncanny Charm by COM.

Yoon-jae, a college student who lives alone, accidentally trips over his new downstairs neighbor, Beom-jin, knocking down a few boxes on his way and unintentionally spilling the contents of one of them. When Beom-jin asks him if he was okay, Yoon-jae sees a dark aura around him that makes him run away in fear. After, Yoon-jae is possessed by a spirit, and after being saved by his new neighbor, he realizes he's accidentally put on a ghost-summoning bracelet that fell when they crashed into each other. To his horror, no matter how hard he pulls, he can't seem to take it off. For now, Yoon-jae, Beom-jin, and their heavenly tiger will be stuck together exorcising ghosts until they can figure out a way to get the bracelet off.

I read this one a while ago, so I don't remember every detail, but I can say it's one of the most interesting stories I've ever read, BL or otherwise. Their romance is not the sole center of the plot at all, but rather something that happens naturally as the story progresses. They each have their flaws and separate problems that end up being not separate at all, and their journey to solve all of them is so captivating I read the whole manwha in very little time. I cried and laughed and loved watching them figure out all the secrets they've been hidden, and work together to unravel them all. I really, really recommend giving Uncanny Charm a read, I'm sure none of you will regret it.

HAII. I'll be doing my review in what I consider PEAK!!!!

My favorite Japanese BL ever, CHERRY MAGIC!! It comes in all shapes. Audio dramas, manga, anime, and even live-action adaptations! Both Japanese and Thai!!

The original title is: Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!

As the title says, it's about Adachi, a virgin office worker who, on his 30th birthday, gains mind-reading powers! While having physical contact with a person, he can hear their thoughts inside his head. This way, one busy morning, he stumbles upon his super-popular male co-worker, Kurosawa, and accidentally reads his mind! While Kurosawa is in bliss at having seen his crush so early in the day, Adachi is perplexed; he doesn't think any of the girls around match the messy appearance Kurosawa is describing when... OH MY GOD HE IS TALKING ABOUT HIM! This way, full of silly panics from Adachi and the insane thoughts that Kurosawa has regarding him (while maintaining a perfect poker face!), their relationship develops!

You should soooo give it a read; it is so comforting! The manga is almost finished; the last volume will be out later this year. I honestly come back to it so often, hehe. The Japanese live-action is really fun, the anime is TOP TIER!!1!!11! and the manga is the best! It includes extras of what would happen if the situation is reversed, Kurosawa being able to read minds vs Adachi being helpless to his powers! It is seriously such a comfort read!! I'm huge on office romances hehe.

I need to remind myself more that it's not necessary for me to doodle for every post I make here 😭

tonight's thoughts are a reflection about uni and past experiences.

I spent my last years of high school in a VERY demanding school, my daily routine was waking up at 5 AM to get home around 6 to 8 pm. I was very unstable during this time mentally, socially and academically (my health was declining too, I had horrible migraines that wouldn't go away even taking strong pills). In my last semester, this was to the point where I decided to go to the doctor and got prescribed adhd meds, I couldn't concentrate on class I was always jittery and couldn't get tasks done. It helped a lot, and I managed to get some work done so as to not fall behind.

Then, before entering uni I had a break of about 9 months lol, where I mostly rested and did some light studying.

Coming back to an academic settings seemed scary, because I had all those thoughts of "oh I was feeling horribly bad! Uni might be even worse!!" So I even stocked up on meds, fearing I would need to use them again. My migraines stopped too, so it was even scarier to think that pain would come back.

Now, after having finished my first semester, where I never even thought about said medication, I can see that I was just actually incredibly burnt out and was suffering the consequences of my lack of sleep, hehe. But it's still scary to think I'll come back to that.

Why am I scared now?

I fear I'm being overconfident by taking so many classes this semester (⁠٥⁠↼⁠_⁠↼⁠), and learning Chinese to top it all, I fear I might really have an awful time this semester.

My schedule looks horrible, I wish I could show you if it didn't make me feel like I'd be doxxing myself lol 😭

but I essentially have days that start with me waking up at 6:00 am and getting home at 9:30 pm. I have 3 days with 4 classes in them and 2 days with 3 classes. And most of them have huge windows of time between them, the craziest one I have is from 1:30 pm to 6:50 pm, but the tiniest one I have is 2 hours, but twice! That day I have class at 8:30 then at 12:00, then at 3:30 pm!! I am so cooked !!!!! So so cooked!!!

I'm rightfully scared I think.

Yeah this is a complaining post after all.

Prepare yourselves for a lot of whining!! (⁠｡⁠•́⁠︿⁠•̀⁠｡⁠) And hopefully plenty of updates of the heavily aforementioned Chinese classes!!!!!! I'm really excited.

SQUID PAN HATER ERA

As promised, I bring you a little story from my very brief time at work. (Underworked and overpaid... amazing ngl) (DELAYED POST I WROTE THIS IN MAY LMAO)

My morning job consisted of registering attendees at the conference, checking them in, and giving them their gift bags. Due to confusion about the location (my campus is new and the name is confusing), people were arriving late. Thankfully, almost all the people that I had assigned showed up, but my other 3 companions—that we are, ofc, as I was table 4, going to call them by their table numbers—had barely gotten action.

Number 2, she was insufferable.

oh my GOD.

So. I hadn't noticed it at the start. I'm a very good sheep: I will follow your orders if I am not opposed to what you say. but. SHE KEPT GIVING US ORDERS. Like, too many. I followed and followed, but something stirred in me. Until one of the friends I had made—she's beautiful btw, I just wanted to mention it lol—said to me, "ugh, I hate people like that" after she was with our group for like, 5 minutes. AND IT CLICKED. She was bossing us around! Which was insane tbh; we spent like 20 minutes there, and she had given us like 10 orders already.

so, because she was NOT a nice person to hang around, whenever I was free I dipped the table and hung out away from her.

So. What happened that was big enough for me to go ahead AND WRITE THIS POST EVEN WHEN IT'S BEEN WAY OVER A WEEK (true when writing this, not when posting it omg. this has been in the drafts for so long)

I had been assigned a "free" shift, meaning I could go up to the coffee area and have a snack, but because of the delay in the schedule, my boss told me to register and bring the bags for the participants who didn't get the chance to do so before the opening.

So I go, I intercept all the people I see who do not have lanyards, write down their names, and run down to the reception area. As I'm bringing the multiple bags, Number 3 shows up and helps me out. I tell her to please get the papers that the people needed to sign. On our way out, we see AN ATTENDEE! He needed directing, so we took him with us to the coffee area and tried to be as polite as possible. I also grabbed his bag, and everything was cool. We rode the elevator up and caught number 2 on the way to the coffee break. I asked, "Hey, are they still eating?" bc if not, I needed to get this guy onto the conference floor, which was different. She couldn't hear me properly, so Number 3 tried calling her again, to no avail. She was screaming at us, but because of the distance, we also could not hear her. When we got closer, I saw she was looking kinda mean, and she goes, with an incredibly obnoxious voice, "GUYS!! What are you doing? Oh my god." and I go "Oh they asked m-" she interrupts "NO, BUT THIS IS LIKE SO UGLY. Like, WHAT ARE YOU DOING" and I got a bit angry ngl. So I say "They literally asked me to do this," and she goes on, "No, but like THIS IS SO DISGUSTING, like it is SO MESSY if you do it like this, like honestly what the fuck are you doing?" MIND YOU!!!! THE ATTENDEE IS STILL BESIDES ME!!!!! AND SHE IS SCREAMING!!! AT ME !!!! SO I AM SO EMBARRASSED AND ANGRY. So I go, with all my demure (lies. I screamed this. in anger. she pmo. she talked over me so many times it'd be impossible to read if I expressed them all) "They literally asked me to do this so you don't have to worry about anything!!! (she yells interrupting me again) LITERALLY YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, THEY ASKED ME EXPLICITLLY TO DO THIS." I get to the door of the coffee break, signal my guy in, and say under my breath "my goddd." and sighed bc honestly what do you even do. She was so insufferable. I hated every second of my interactions with her.

Cool news is that I got so many business cards... and a job opportunity that fell off sadly, but I had a grand time nevertheless.

I WANTED TO BE A FILM MAJOR ONCE

Haii, in honor of taking an intro to cinema class this semester:

little story time + review.

I spent a goooooood few years thinking I wanted to pursue film in college. Why? you ask, Did you like to make movies in your off time? NO LMAOOO, I NEVER EVEN TOUCHED A CAMERA.

My reason was, incredibly so...

I watched a Thai BL drama.

This drama in particular, if you could not already guess it (if you're a ball knower) is THEORY OF LOVE.

You can watch it on youtube btw, for free! Apparently you need a vpn; they're geoblocked, sadly. When I connected to Thailand, all the videos loaded immediately and also with proper MANY subtitles available... we used to be a proper country TT...

I'll share with you my fav scene from the 1st chapter through screenshots before giving you the proper summary:

So, summary of this beautiful series, taken from viki, and (added commentary from me):

Adapted from the novel by JittiRain. Third (Gun Atthaphan I WAS A HUGE FAN OF THIS GUY) and Khai (Off Jumpol HUGE FAN OF THIS GUY AS WELL) are filmology majors (their friend group is known because each one of them has a different speciality. Our MC is a writer!! and his friends are good at photography, audio, and I can't remember what ML does, directing maybe?) And best friends at a local university. Third has long harbored secret romantic feelings for Khai, who maintains a strict "no dating friends" policy and constantly dates other girls. (My guy literally dated at least one girl from each campus/major. I remember he also dated twins? The treatment of women in this series is disgusting at best tbh)

Struggling with his unrequited love, Third decides to move on and let go of his feelings. Ironically, only after Third begins to distance himself does Khai start to realize his own potential romantic feelings for his best friend. (incredibly frustrating ngl) As Third tries to move forward, Khai must now confront whether he can win back the heart of the friend he may have taken for granted.

From what I remember, the only iffy things about this show are how sexist these stupid college men are. Though reading reviews, I had fully forgotten that I they tried to pull off a student-teacher relationship as well? very background if I'm reading right.

THE GOOD THINGS THOUGH??? Apart from the general story, the way they built these characters, the sets, the ambiance, THE MUSIC, the photography... IT'S SO PEAK. I fully wanted to be a film major after it!!

So yeah, watch this show if you fancy!! It is incredibly good. Hopefully I get pas into watching it with me soon, heheh.

That's my series review; hopefully it was at least a nice read.

With a new semester comes one of the hardest battles a university student must face... Taking courses.

I, Squid Pan, am so proud to say my efforts of taking 2/2 of the awful classes I needed to take apart from my normal curricular ones... plus!! 1/2 of the other classes I need to take throughout my career.

After ranking all the rankings and waiting all the waiting...

I GOT ALL THE CLASSES I WANTEDDDDDDD. YAYYYY!!!!!1!!!1!! I WON THAT STUPID WAR!!!!

Next semester is going to look absolutely awful ngl KJSNFJKAN

I have 5 courses, then 2 extra ones, then a film course (that is not graded, THANK GODS) AND... I'm starting Chinese classes outside of uni.

Peep the silly squid pan I drew as a warm-up (can you tell I've neglected the little squid so bad I can't remember how to properly draw?)

So yeah!! That leaves me with days that have classes starting at 8:30 am and finishing with my Chinese classes at 8:00 pm... I'm going to be soooo done for, omfg...

Fun fact though, one of my extra courses is also about film (did you know I wanted to be a film major? I should make a post about that..(I DID!!)) and they will have me write BLOG POSTS FOR GRADING LOOLLL.

Happy to say I've been enjoying my vacations thoroughly, meaning I've done 0 drawings !!! I'm sorry!!! I'll maybe get back to it soon, though do not trust my word as I am far away from my city with very little signal until the 26th 😝 so laziness might get the better of me.

Sadly, my parents are forcing me to study math... Soulless creatures.

so. you know how we've been missing.

THEWAYYYYYY UNI HAS ME IN A CHOKEHOLD I HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN ABLE TO TEXT MY FRIENDS DO YOU HEAR ME CRY. The only day i had free i spent with my sister (we tried soju and watched the untamed, great night ngl) so yeah... maybe byyy the week of the 6th of july i will be able to make actual posts? I'm just actually swamped with work.

Here is a list of this weekend needs

Today: Finish 2 sections of my report for intro class + start the presentation

Read at least 30 pages for my law class

Schedule a meeting to see when I have to read another 20 pages for another hw for my law class

Study for my test on Monday

Tomorrow:

Hopefully have at least half the presentation ready.

Read at least 20 pages for my law class

Start and finish the other hw for my intro class

study for my test on monday and for my test on wednesday

work w my mom in the afternoon

Next big events

Intro test (15%) I need to do well because I don't want to do the exam, eugh

Math test (30%) I need to do well.. I did not pass my last one...

Turn in the report (25%) and do the presentation (5%) for intro as well

Turn in extra work for my law class (idk how many points we'll get from it) bc i didn't do too hot on my test

Do yet another essay ish work for law + speaking part (i'm guessing 30%)

barely had time to call twin last week after we had not talked for ages, that is the only interaction i've had w my non-uni friends oh my godddd. I think for the past month i could count the conversations i had w pas with my fingers.
