I swear I’ll get back to locking in on writing UtMDS soon, stuff got busy and I’m currently sick (a bit ironic given the last part I wrote). The good news is I’m working on a new writing setup so that I don’t have to retype everything I write! In the meantime there’s a chance I might write a short fic for another fandom because I recently reread one of my favorite books.

So about chapter 3 of “Under the Moonlight, Dyed Scarlet”, I know where it starts and where it ends, there’s just one huge problem. There’s like 3 weeks between the start and end points of the chapter, and I have like very few ideas for what to make them do between then. (Ofc maybe it’s just me who would notice if a huge time jump happened. This is what I get for placing it sort of on a timeline in a non-specific year. Too late to ignore the fact that Fuuta’s birthday exists…) The new semester will be starting too. Any ideas for activities two friends but not close friends could hang out and do (not going to the mall (for a specific reason)) would be appreciated. I unfortunately have no friends who are into Milgram to ask.

Chapter 2 is out now!! This one took a while to finally get around to finishing. 

Also fun fact: I actually write on my e-reader since otherwise I get really distracted while writing or end up editing sentences excessively, but since I haven’t had much luck scanning text from off of my e-reader with my phone camera, it means I have to type it all up again before I can edit and post. That can take a while depending on how long the chapters are. So even though I really love reading long chapters, I doubt I’ll be writing any 10k+ word chapters soon because of how long the whole process takes. Though depending on whether I decide to split two major events I have planned into separate chapters or put them in the same chapter, I might be taking that back by the next chapter lol. I’d be impressed if I could write a 6k word chapter tbh

One of the two drawings I’ve done for my fic (the other may or may not still be relevant to the ending)! Mikoto wearing a hoodie looks so silly to me lol but there is actual plot relevance to it. I should do more greyscale drawings or at least something up to date for the current version of the fic at some point.

Got lots of my work done so that I can finish writing chapter 2 of UtMDS soon (it’s significantly longer than chapter 1, not looking forward to typing it up and editing… I’m a very slow writer, it only looks like I’m a fast writer because I posted chapter 1 recently, started chapter 2 in January and currently procrastinating on finishing the last few scenes) Anyways here’s some random unedited previews of chapter 2 because why not:

it’s not weird to find fanfiction from 2021, or 2017, or 2014 that you’ve never read and actually taking your time to read it.

it’s not weird to love it and comment and leave kudos because the author will probably still see it someday and it will make them happy.

it’s not weird to like said author’s work so much that you want to go look for other fics from them.

it’s not weird to go through the authors profile and look for other fics from the ships you like (or maybe some that you’ll give a chance because you liked the author) and maybe bookmark them for later.

it’s not weird to read these other fics and like them too and comment on them because you actually like them and you want to let the author know.

it’s not weird to read fanfiction from 5, or 8, or 10 years ago and actually enjoy and engage with it because it’s perfectly normal to relate to something that’s less than a decade old!

let’s stop treating fanfiction like they’re instagram posts that stop being interesting in 24 hours! fanfiction is NOT social media, fanfiction is art!!! and art doesn’t get old in one day, one year, or even a decade!

read fanfiction! write fanfiction! comment on fanfiction! let’s not let fanculture die people!!!!!
