Imam Sadiq (A.S.) said: "There is none who recites poetry about Husayn (A.S.) and weeps and makes others weep by means of it, except that Allah makes Paradise incumbent upon him and forgives his sins."
Rijal al‑Shaikh al‑ Tusi pg. 189 (via thelittlephilosopher)
How often do we treat qadhaa time as if it's the prime time? How often we treat the value of something greater gold as if it is something made of copper? At lunch, do we take time out to pray - or only in winter? Do we pray at the start or the end of lunch? How important really is salaat to you? Food for thought there...
The day chases the night and the night chases the day
When these lovers finally meet the Muslims stand up to pray
(brief explanation: the coming together of these two eternally chasing lovers resonates through the air, making it a special time)
Salamun Alaykum wa Rahmatullah, this is Sanna. I decided to follow you on tumblr and keep up to date on your poems. I think my favorite ones is are the one about the Qur'an and the one about Imam Ali(AS). Keep it up. Khudafiz
Alaykum Salaam, thanx for the follow, and for your comment :) If you have any pieces, be sure to let me know so I can read yours too!
Take What You Can
I want to be that mirror that accepts every flaw But reflects only that which makes me gasp in awe And has hidden every evil, to make sure none saw For I'm a keeper of secrets, locked behind a door
This is by far my best piece of work yet. I put a lot of thought into it. The structure tells part of the story, and the whole poem is a cryptic metaphor. There is a very, very deep meaning, lost in the folds of this poem. Please read this one carefully, and hopefully you will see the light shining invisibly within it.
I named it Earth Shackles. Interpret it as you wish
How often we leave the Quran to collect dust on the shelf! How rarely do we read its translation, and take lessons away from it? This poem is a tribute to the Quran. The Abandoned Teacher
I decided to use the metaphor of a plant for the soul for the entirety of this poem.
This one is designed to be spoken. It's called Harder Than Rock. It was inspired by the Quran (2:74)
This poem was my first proper one. I called it Broken Promise
