पूर्णिमा की रात में,जब कदम आगे बढ़ते है,

तब अकेला सा लगता है,

उस पूर्ण चाँद को देख,जब अधूरा महसूस होता है,

तब अकेला सा लगता है,

चमचमाती पीली चांदनी देख,जब दिल में दर्द उठता है,

तब अकेला सा लगता है,

चंद्र के वो धब्बे देख,जब स्वयं की छवि दिखती है,

तब अकेला सा लगता है,

निहारती हु जब उस ग्रह को उस घोर अंधेरे में,

किसी और को उसकी जगह देखने का मन करता है,

बैठती हु जब उस छत की गर्म ज़मीन पर,

और आस पास कोई दिखता नहीं,

जी करता है उसे सीने से लगा लू,

जो दूसरों की रोशनी से मुझे उजाला देता है,

पर जब वह चांद भी मुझे इंकार करता है,

जब इस संसार की ललकार से, डर कर छिपता खुद को पाता हूँ,

जो गुलाब कभी फूल बनकर मुस्कुराते थे, आज कांटे कहकर उनसे मुंह फेर जाता हूँ,

जब दिल के अरमान, सपने वो हज़ार, आंसुओं की तरह बहाता हूँ,

जब इस कलम की पूजा में, जीना भूल जाता हूँ,

जब दिल के इस चौखाने में, स्मृति प्रिय की पाता हूँ,

अब इन सवालों के चौखाने में बिखरे पड़े मेरे अरमान हैं।

टूटा पड़ा आज इस लेखक का स्वाभिमान है।

इस चौखाने को कब्र मान कर ही सो जाएँगे।
