If it’s true that you get your own slice of heaven when you die

I want my heaven to be made up of art in its purest form

I want to see Michel Angelo paint

I want to see William Shakespeare write

I want to hear the beginning moments of music being sang as a lullaby

I want my heaven to filled with art

One day when I die I’m going to float up

Pass the clouds

Pass all of space

And became a part of the universe

Star dust scattered everywhere

In an all things beautiful and magical

I was born heartbroken

Parents that never saw me

Siblings that never saw me

Thrown into a raging ocean of trauma I can’t claim as mine

I spend most of my life alone

Lost in my head

Unable to breath

I asked the moon a question

She answered, Before their were any humans, any plants, any rain

There was the sun

Her only friend

So many years ago before time existed

Things changed when the planets started spinning

And time started ticking

The moon still madly in love with the sun tells me

When we do see each other the world can’t help but stop and stare aww’ed by the beauty of an eclipse

I grew up in a haunted house

Every room had a demon hiding inside the walls

At night you could hear them fighting each other

If you held your breath long enough you could see them in the corner hiding in the shadows

Just don’t breath in

Or they’ll jump out and grab you

He was a broken man and I liked that

I liked his sharp edges

I liked being cut by them

Almost as much as I like being cut by the razor I keep under my bed

All my life I was taught that the people who love you hurt you the most

Not to take it personally because it always hurt them more

He was broken and I was lost

Don’t cry when he cuts you

He doesn’t mean it

Stop acting like a baby

Your so dramatic

Stop saying your gonna leave

You always make it sound like all you did was accidentally dropped me and I cracked

You fucking threw me against the wall and shattered me

You watched as I sobbed on the floor asking you why

But you never said a word

I’m in outer space

I know you would love a taste

I’m flying high

I don’t wanna come down

I’m reaching the peak it’s so fucking sweet

I don’t care if it kills me

Your breathtaking

I’m counting the stars

I’m coming down

I feel so light

I don’t know what I missed

I’m getting closer and closer

To the end of the ditch

My skin is being eaten away by the seagulls

My bones washed away into the ocean

I was never really here anyway

I fell in love when I was 16

I didn’t know what love was but it didn’t matter to me then

Growing up never hearing the word love made it so special when I heard it for the first time

Tragic We’re his lies that slithered out of his mouth and onto my unknowing flesh

First love always seems to go wrong

Never forever

But always euphoric

When I learned how to speak I didn’t understand why my words weren’t understood by everyone

Years later I found out I spoke 2 languages not just the 1

To me

It was 1 big language with no limitations

Some words just sounded prettier in Spanish

And some sentences are shorter in English

I was never in just 1 category

Always in the middle somewhere

Between my homeland and the place I was raised in

I am proud of this fact

Even during the racist moments when I don’t belong to either world

I know I am both and I am uniquely my own
