âForests have secrets,â he said gently. âItâs practically what theyâre for. To hide things. To separate one world from another.â

praefiigo:
âJust give me your address and Iâll show up when you least expect it.â Knowing Naeveh, sheâd show up with hulk gloves to make sure she didnât hurt or get hurt.
âIâll text it to you! Because I magically have your number.â She teased, waving a little as she continued backing away. âHave a good night!â
praefiigo:
âThey usually stay sharp without having to sharpen them, thankfully. Can you imagine that?â Naeveh crossed her arms with amusement as the btunette kept talking. âOne day. I wouldnât mind- I canât turn down a good challenge. Or a sparing session for that.â
Putting two thumbs up, she backed away little, figuring the girl wanted to be on her merry way as well. âHonestly, if you showed up at my home and starting landing punches, youâd definitely have a challenge on your hands. Actually do that. I need more spontaneity in my life.â
praefiigo:
Naeveh shook her head, taking her, now human, hand out of her jacket. âCan I count claws?â She teased. âI prefer fighting hand to hand. I have an advantage when it comes to speed when Iâm bare handed.â
âClaws, hmm. Thatâs not an option Iâve heard before. Do you have to sharpen them?â She asked, pouting her lip out with an impressive nod. âThatâs a trait of a strong fighter. Iâd love to fight you one day.â Artemis almost seemed excited about that fact, grinning happily at that.
praefiigo:
âThen Iâll give it to you.â Naeveh smiled. âFor helping me out. You deserve a prize.â The shewolf was never one to let someone who had helped her go unrewarded and seeing as this particular girl had helped her, it was only fair to return the favor. âWhy the bow?â She asked, curious.
Pursing her lips slightly, Artemis chose to simply keep the jacket rather than fighting the girl. Tonight was particularly chilly than last night and a jacket would definitely help. âI donât have precision with a spear and as much as I loved handling two daggers for combat, arrows are silent while hunting. Do you have a favorite weapon?â
praefiigo:
âIt did occur to me.â Naeveh laughed, noting the jacket in her hands. âOh, itâs fine. Keep it. It looks better on you than it does on me anyway.â She had enough jackets, honestly. Not that she needed them. âAre you taking lessons?â
âI couldnât possibly take your jacket. Please take it. Itâs comfortable, but not rightfully mine.â She prompted, holding the collar by the end of her fingertips. Her attention switched to her bow and arrow with a smile. âNot particularly. Before I went into the army, I trained with arrows instead of guns. Itâs sort of a ritual as an Amazon to be given a weapon and then be left in the forest to live by yourself for two weeks. I chose a bow and arrow and havenât put it down since.â
praefiigo:
Naeveh was about to push him back when she saw the arrow fly towards him. As it hit, she jumped, already on high alert as the male coward off. Only to recognize the young girl from a few days ago. âHi.â She said, almost breathlessly as she stuffed her hands into her pockets, hiding her twitching claws. âNice aim.â
Artemis took her bag off of back to unfold the jacket, approaching her slowly to hand it to her. âI washed it. Thank you letting me wear it.â She thanked, straightening her bow and bag back. âI have a habit of shooting first and asking questions later. Plus, he didnât look like he was going to stop. I apologize if you suspected I was a hunter or something.â
Naeveh slapped the manâs hand away as he pulled her back. It took everything in her to keep control on the beast inside. âI told you. I am not interested. Leave me alone.â She spoke through gritted teeth, giving him one final warning.
Artemis didnât carry her bow and arrow around with her normally, but she recently had to put down a rabid animal that afternoon, thus she still had it strapped to her back. Recognizing the woman that gave her her jacket the other day in a midst of tension, the girl hoisted the bow on her should, arrow poised toward the opposing male. With accurate position, Artemis released it, sending him scowering away with a broadway stuck in his hand. She came out of the shadows with a small smile toward Naeveh. âHi, again.â
â i donât. itâs odd, isnât it? ever since i was but a child, iâve always been exactly whom i was, and accepted fully everything that came with it. there were never regrets, sorrows, or even hesitance on my part⊠i wonder, does that make me mad or sane? â
âI find that hard to believe given we only remember about 5-10% of our memories as children. There is always uncertainty, always doubt as a child until we built and grow that shield to be an offensive person. Believing that you were always perfect doesnât make you mad or sane; it makes you ignorant. Not saying that youâre saying you are perfect. Just generally.â
â are we ever ready to see ourselves for what we really are? â
âThat depends if youârâe talking about our eternal damnation or our, personal internal argument we have going on. Either way, with sinning being more common than the steps we take, it is understandable why people have mental breakdowns. Or even question the span of their morality.â
Task 006: Siblings
Artemis considers her tribe back home as her brothers and sisters; even with the time apart, sheâd die for them. However, she does have a twin brother who is a water elemental. Despite Amazon tradition to have males only serve as slaves or for reproduction, as long as intercourse is not initiated, he was allowed to stay peacefully. His name is PeriplanĂłmenos (sometimes nicknamed Apollo), which means âwandererâ. Arty and Perry are superbly close and write letters to one another whenever they can.

Honey, Iâm home!
Ezio wasnât even aware that she was back from deployment, they decided on when she got back and rested was when sheâd call him. He was starting to worry that sheâd never call him and that she had moved on, or worse. It was hard to beat such negative thoughts out of his head, they had plagued him for so long, but he let his feelings for her and confidence that she felt the same way shine through.
He had two days off in a row, a rarity for him and it was raining too hard to train or anything so he was stuck inside, watching something on TV he wasnât paying close attention to. He was lost in this thoughts, he hated being idle.Â
A knock on the door jarred the Phoenix out of his thoughts. He opened the door to a wet Artemis, a very wet Artemis. He had three emotions going on in his head right now. First, Artemis was back and he felt like he could hold her forever. Second, he wanted to usher her inside and make her change out of those wet clothes, he didnât want her to get sick. Third, the woman he was crazily attracted to was stand outside of his door, in wet clothes. He went with the second thought.
âArty, get in here, itâs freezing outside,â he stepped aside and ushered her in. He left her for just a moment to grab a towel and a clean shirt and pair of shorts for her, âHere,â he handed her the towel first, âAnd you donât have to change if you donât want, but hereâs some clothes if you do and we can throw your wet things in the dryer.â
Artemis had about six seconds to think of an answer while Ezio made his way to the door. There was so many things she wanted to say, but when the door open, all preparations went out the window. The two shared a few seconds of a locked gaze before he spoke to her. Mother Nature, she missed his voice. He was gone all of a sudden and she hadnât caught even a word he spoke to her. Damn those beautiful eyes.Â
She stood in the living room, her fingers aching the touch things that had no right to be touched. Her feet had never made it inside Ezioâs apartment before. It was torture not being able to snoop. Though, she wasnât sure what she expected to find. A photo album filled of a past lifetime with a beautiful creature that wasnât her? Bloody heads from demon spawn? A clue to the suspected vibrant past that the phoenix shared? Either way, the girl didnât move. Thankfully he was back before the urge grew too great, her eyes softening graciously at the clothes placed in her hands. Detergent wafted from the clothes with the manâs signature smell laced on the fabric. It was a dream come true.Â
Her gaze slowly shifted from the clothes up to his eyes, her smile wide. Artemis hadnât spoken a word since she got through the door, thus she knew she should probably knock that off her list. Standing on her toes to place a chaste kiss to his cheek, the bridge of her nose rested on his cheek as she whispered, âIâve missed you. Thank you for the clothes.â The woman soon pulled away to find the bathroom which she suspected was down the hall, locking herself in the room once she located the shadowed toilet.
Task 005: Names
âArtemisâ, or (for close friends) âArtyâ are what Artemis prefers to be called; her friends and family back in the Amazons nicknamed her âVĂ©losâ, which is her birth name, meaning arrow. Her accuracy is phenomenal. Her troop comrades call her Lieutenant Pointe or âArrowâ as well. Artemis Pointe is on her birth certificate but her tribal name is VĂ©los IschyrĂł EpistĂĄtis Tis Gis, daughter of Xanthippe; her middle names translate to âstrong oneâ and âcaretaker of the landâ. When she came to the US, she had it changed to âArtemis Pointeâ. She wants to carry around Mother Nature, specifically, the goddess Artemis, everywhere she goes.
(ââàž±àŻŠâàž±â)
âPerfect! Iâll swing by a bit later!â She laughed, âInterrogate is a strong word, more like Iâll ask him some friendly questions in a public place! Come on, donât I at least get a name or a description of him?â
Artemis proceeded to clap her hands excitedly at the thought of having company. âHis name is Ezio. Heâs really sweet, strong and he has a brilliant mind. I hope things work out.â Her fingers crossed, her teeth nipping at her bottom lip a little.
Less than a month to Valentineâs
âOkay. One in town, no big deal. Alaska isnât as far as I thought you were going to say necessarily. Iâm sorry to hear that that happened to him and that is a very lovely gesture on your part.â He replied, taking out two order forms one for the Air Force base and the others for the person in town, smiling when he heard that the other was Ezio. âEzio Meir. Thatâs nice.â He said trying to keep it cool, knowing that his present to her was currently growing in the back. âYou know what flowers you want to send to them?â
âFor my lieutenant, I think a dozen wild roses would be good. It took me a bit to make sure the symbolism behind the plants were correct by non-elemental standards. Iâd rather not send him something that means solitude in usual societies.â She smiled a that fact, flipping back to Ezioâs notecard while her fingers gathered her wallet out. âFor Ezio, a dozen yellow pansies, please.â She pulled out a hundred bill along with the cards designating the address. âKeep the change.â
