It's so rampant in the Phighting fandom that I do think I have to make this my pinned post.
I HATE ABLEISM AND I HATE VICTIM BLAMING!!!!
Even though the character is fictional, mocking Subspace for his disability is still terrible. Minimizing or ignoring how Korblox groomed him is still terrible. It's spewing awful ideas that impact real disabled folks and real victims.
Although I see this problem with the highest concentration with Subspace, Phighting has several other disabled characters which the fandom treats horribly, especially Hyperlaser.
Because of how normalized it is in the fandom, it's not uncommon for ableism to be actually directed towards people too! It empowers ableists and makes them feel comfortable when they're allowed to say ableist things as "a joke," and then they will move on to worse.
This post is not to stir any discourse and I will not respond to any reply that attempts to treat it as such. I just want my stance to be very obvious for anyone who checks my blog, and then they may choose if they'd like to interact with me.
