the ending of the odyssey is like if at the end of the lord of the rings frodo became on optometrist and forced sam to come along with him
did christopher nolan forget he was directing the odyssey and not moana at the end there
Christopher Nolan's odyssey summarized:
take away any responsibility odysseus has ever had for anything
make him "Let go of controlling his fate" (he hasnt controlled shit)
to atone for his 1 sin make him go BACK ONTO THE OCEAN FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE (but this time with his wife!!! so its okay.) and he's super excited about it even though literally every moment of the twenty years he's spent at sea have been hell and he's leaving his son in the wreckage of a kingdom he barely saved
spoilery review of the odyssey
actually my biggest problem with the odyssey is that it takes away so much of odysseus's responsibility. he doesnt make a choice to sacrifice his men; it's literally given to him as the only choice. the choice of a plot line where he's basically forgotten everything (and being drugged) when he's with calypso instead of choosing to portray it as him cheating or being assaulted removes so much of the depth of his misery and background for his choices. he doesnt do the "nobody" bit with the cyclops, and he instead just has a little moment of foolish anger. the choices he does make (such as listen to the siren song) have no real consequences.
you could almost call him blameless, and it takes so much of the choice and responsibility and development away.
I feel no connection to his humanity, and I really hate that
this meme but IM holding the image and the image is of TIM
the best part of every enola holmes movie is tewksbury suffering, so I can already tell this one is going to be a banger

the way she calls him honey bee with so much love and then so much disdain in cigarette smoke. id kiss a car going 70 mph if I were him
the last act spoilers below!!
I know tadc is heartbreaking, but I think we should be counting our blessings
Can you imagine if Kinger had done brain scans on his daughters as well as his wife?
Just think of the way he treats the girls in the circus. Caine's villian arc would look be like a stubbed toe in comparison to Kinger after his babies abstracted
the last act spoilers!
I was theorizing with someone about how maybe abstracted people could come back, and then I was wondering if their true names could be a part of that bringing them back. Then obviously there's the issue that Jax likely wouldn't go by Leeroy anymore, and no one knows what name she chose for herself.
so now in my head I just see Pomni and the gang shouting girl names at Jax until she suddenly pops into back into existence after a few hundred incorrect tries
beginning to wonder if Gooseworx relates to Caine more than Jax now after how the fandom has treated her
I wish my brain would realize that it's not possible to be missing my keys if I'm currently driving down the road
The Last Act spoilers
It's amazing how well the info that Jax is trans softened the blow that they're also. dead.
